Do you just do a standard Google search(s) or do you use any special researching software to speed up the process? Once you find your information, do you just keep jotting down concepts and details and then, when you have a substantial amount, organize them into articles? Thanks for enlightening me.
I just use google but I look for good sites and go a few pages back a lot good info lives a few pages back and not many people look past the first page or 2. I usually use Wikipedia as a benchmark and then open at least 3-5 other sites and read and compare info then I compile chunks and paragraphs of info into groups with a link to where they came from (in case I have to reference info as I am writing). Then I try to arrange the info into the order I am going to write. Then I start writing and use my chucks of info as a reference. This is what I use for hard technical writing, easier stuff I use the same kind of method but I just read stuff and then write with out the notes.
That's pretty much what I would do. I've considered copy-pasting important paragraphs using office onenote as this helps with organization and I think it automatically creates a source link. Good tip about Wikipedia, can't believe I didn't think of that one.
The idea of copy-pasting is not a good one, unless your making a reference. It is never a good idea to copy someone's work. Using it for ideas and what to write about is okay, but I never copy-paste. I use Wikipedia and then look at the references and visit a couple sites that they used for their information. I also us Google's advanced search
Yeah, Wikipedia references provide good info. You misunderstood what I said, though. I am not copy-pasting directly into my articles; I am copy-pasting to my computer so I can work offline and still have all my resources available. It's also good to save your information in case you ever want write on that topic again. Thanks for your tips.
Wikipedia for sure - The, some more sites regarding the same topic/niche. Read stuff and then write down the article with my own little creative ideas that pop in while I am on it.
