Hi, I want to know, how can I trace my competitor's activities? Is there any software for that? If yes then which one is best and how much cost it? Can I get any free software which can work well? Hope to get the solution for my each question
Thanks mate, but I am talking about to trace the activities of competitors I mean like what they are doing for good SERP and what all keywords are well ranked etc
I suggest you to use Yahoo Siteexplorer -and get backlinks of your competitor. Then i suggest you to use this also - Ontolo - its a good for analyzing your competitor but will take some time to analyze and get results..
Time spent spying on competitors is time unavailable for improving your own site(s). I have never understood this fixation on what the other guy is doing. Perhaps someone can enlighten me?
Any decent SEO knows that the keywords a site is targeting "should" be in their <title> elements on their pages... Download Xenu Link Sleuth and crawl their site... Export the crawl information to a tab delimited site. This will give you a list of ALL of their URLs on their site... The export ALSO includes the <title> of each of the pages in a column. You can then check rankings on the keyword phrases from their <title> elements using whatever software you have available for rank checking. You can also set up Google alerts for their brand, their company name, names of the people you know there in high positions... Follow their management team and other employees from there on Twitter. You'd be surprised how often the competition will let the "cat out of the bag" early via tweets or interviews that get posted online even before an official announcement comes out.
tracking competitors is one of the major part of seo. first check who all the competitors for your specific targeted keyword. then check their onpage factors. check their inbound links along with backlinks.
