After a lot of testing I figured that 90% of results comes from page title, desription + keywords. Thats it. So all other optimising is a waste of time. Also when seo software trying to analyse competitors and suggest what is optimal % for all seo statistics are... its really bad. Because if competitors made a bad optimization you will have just an average bad optimization instead of building it yourself. I had suggestions from seo software of making 25%+ keyword density just because competitors over using it. Are you disappointed in Seo software like me too?
And the other 99% comes from anchor text in links. Truly, the biggest factor in Google is anchor text - and internal links count here, particlarly for longer tail search terms. I agree that most (all?) SEO software is a waste of money.
Wrong across the board but in a nutshell, SEO software is useless unless you know what to do with said results. That also assumes you are using the correct apps(it requires 3 of them) to perform said task properly. While I am all about helping folks, I am not about to let that cat out of the bag. I have been historically opposed to automated anything but a colleague of mine showed me a few examples that were frankly through the roof in terms of what you can do with a few helpful tools. Not much different from what I did anyway but certainly way faster in terms of digging up the info.
Only 1 good feature which seo software has it - it's competitors backlinks based on PR. And also its nice to check web rank for specific keywords over time.
Google uses over 200 metrics to base its internal PR on and decide where you should appear - how can just 3 or 4 factors be the whole 100%? There is so much more at work - I actually now know of almost 50 of these metrics, most only uncover 6-10 (the obvious ones), and believe me, it was hard work figuring out what some of these others were, but make perfect sense when you understand. But anyway, never ever EVER use software because it basically doesn't have a clue what its doing! I tested a number of the so-called market leaders a couple of months back now and my conclusion was... they are all crap! Plain and simple. Some placed the keyword density far too high - made stupid recommendations for key phrases - 3 missed the image alt tags - the list goes on! Most of these people that write this software don't know the actual rules, and there are so many, it isn't even funny! This is why software never gets it right! Hope that helps, Andy
