I always think Meta tags is more relevant. But now, I know why blogger dont have meta description and keyword. Haha If Google say that we dont need change duplicate meta(description and keyword) because they dont use these meta. We will save a lot of time.

yeah, Matt Cutt has confirmed this statement long time before.
since the meta tag is very easily to be tricked by others.

main cause for removing it was others used to spam search engines with irrelevant keywords!

But I still confuse. Because Google still use description meta to make snippet. What happen when I creat description and title is not relevant to query search, but content is. Will google get content to make snippet or my site will not be rank because of not relevant keywords in search result?

    CORRECTION:
Google does NOT use meta keywords, but they DO use meta description
BTW: Yahoo still uses meta keywords

So if they dont use the keyword meta tag, how do you get your site to show up in a serp for a keyword or key phrase? I also see lots of posts in the forum about how many keywords are too much and such and no one seems to tell those people that keyword meta tags dont matter. Can someone please elaborate?

I have read that Meta tags is important for google at least the tittle tag must be unique also your description must be relationate to your content, but keyword doen't matter for google I'm agree that yahoo still give the importance for keywords

In ideal case only thing necessary should be the content. In real world meta description is quite important for Google.

You know, Google is not the only search engine. I would still use them. Just use them correctly and you will be fine. Dont add like 200 keywords. Just list the most relevant.

You must use your keywords in the Title tag. Title tag is still considered seriously by Google. Also you can do it in your URL
