Yes, you will be ok with any good shared hosting plan for these projects.

Many hosts provide easy 1 click install facilities for Wordpress and free forum software etc.

    Two free forum programs are:

    phpBB2
includes powerful permission systems, private messaging, search functions, a customisable template and language system, as well as support for multiple databases.

    Simple Machines Forum

is a free, professional grade software package that allows you to set up your own online community within minutes.

    Best of luck.

I'm doing a switch to host gator, but wait until black friday. Expect unreal deals. Thats what I've heard and basically been promised. I've been looking for a month now and feel darn confident in choosing them.

yes i think in terms of further upgrades, hostgator provide a wider choice in event of needing more resources than bluehost's 1 plan-only..
but i just noticed hostgator have just updated their site.. and the price seems more expensive than previous? did i see wrong or something..

HostGator's Black Friday sale last year everything was 75% off. I signed up for a three year baby plan :) Not sure if they are going to do it again this year, but hopefully.

They didn't change their prices but they added VPS hosting.

Can I ask you, do you remember if the 75% deals were just for the first year? Or if you sign up for 3 years, all those years at at the 75% discount? Thanks!!

    1. Most any hosting company can do this, in fact look for ones with Sofaculous as that's the script which has a bunch of different scripts for you to choose (I use it and love it - was worth every cent!)

    2. Simple Machines or MyBB for forums. Those two softwares are great and easily upgradable to vBulletin or IPB in the future if need be.

    3. Look at the host's terms of service and ensure they're right for you. Most hosts like Host Gator trick you into thinking you have all the space in the world, but really you only have a certain amount.

    4. Last but not least, ask the host for a month trial. Best thing you can do is try the host out first

any hosts will be ok, wordpress and most forum softwares run with no problems on most hosting companies

as forum software I'd give a look at phpbb, mybb, simplemachines

vbulletin should have importers for all of these forum softwares ( official and not official importers, but I suppose you couldn't care less )

I have all my sites hosted with bluehost and I love them! I don't know Hostgator, I think they're good as well, but Bluehost is really great. And of course, you can install the phpbb and wordpress with Fantastico (one click install). Under my post you can see a step-to-step tutorial where I describe bluehost a bit more in detail. But, as someone said before, you can't do anything wrong with Hostgator or Bluehost.
    Greetings

any linux hosting will be good enough to run ur scripts, as long as the host is reliable.
between hostgator and bluehost, i would prefer bluehost.

and for forum script, i think phpbb3 is a good choice, but if u want something simple, smf is good enough

I am also looking for wordpress web hosting. I am with Bluehost and recently came across some posts on digitalpoint that they have bad reputation with suspended account. I haven't see it personally with my sites but other point to keep in mind is to have dedicated web hosting which bluehost doesn't offer.

something to keep in mind, if you site gets pretty popular then you probably have to move to some other web hosting that will require some downtime, backup/restore etc.on other hand bluehost is very economical for add-on domain they charge only $15 and shell access is free, Host Gator charges $2 for shell access/month, also Host gator dedicated prices looks very high (basic dedicated $174/month). I looked into Hoststore their dedicated web hosting plan starts with $69.95/month but i haven't find any more information on Host store.

Can some one suggest any good wordpress web hosting with shared and affordable dedicated web hosting ?

I think you should go with Bluehost or Hostgator. Install wordpress with their 1-click install script, and then install MyBB by uploading files to your website via FTP. It's really easy, and you'd have your own community up & running in no-time!

They work great for wordpres, and for hosting forums. Good luck!

Have you checked the advertising section of this board? May be you should try to search some reviews and itraders as well for the reputation perspective.

If it comes down to Blue Host or Host Gator, Host Gator is cheaper.

Don't buy anything from hoststore, after 1 month they will suspend you account without any reason. i am already lost USD 500+, support team totally suck did not reply ticket and emails.
