That's the only thing I was a little turned off to - is there a way to make your "home page" be the actual forum again, instead of that website interface? I know that's one of the main points of vB 4.0, but in some cases, it is just giving visitors one more click they have to go through to get to the forum.

They have the Beta 4 public now. Fixed 100+ bugs. May be its time for an upgrade:)

Nice, but I'm still afraid of anything in Beta. Might as well wait for the RC.

There won't be an RC for 4.x, I believe.

I think people who like vbulletin 4.0 are the ones who are obsessed with vbulletin, frankly I am extremely disappointed with the release, I am keeping my upgrade option on hold to wait and see if it gets any better, if not I am just a happy person to stick with 3.8.x version which my board currently runs on.

It's way better in terms of features.
This version (the Beta that we can download) still has some bugs (as I tested in my local machine). Hopefully they'll be fixed in final release.

I agree, 100%. vB 4 is like a step backwords, (well not quite, but I do think of it that way). I am more than disappointed with the release and I plan to stay away from vB 4.x for a long as possible. I don't think anything will be getting much better until 5.x. But who knows.
    Features? What features?

I don't agree with you on that.
People just don't like change, check out facebook every time there is a layout change, people complain for weeks they they get use to it and calm down.
I don't even have a vBulletin forum still, and don't plan to every buy another one, but 4.0 is an improvement from the 3.8 series.
It IS still in beta right now, it's only going to get better.
That's just how software evolves ;)

For me I really don't have a need for the CMS and don't have a need to leave the 3.x series at this time. IMO when I look at vB4 all I'm seeing is vB3 with a new look and some changes here and there. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people who doesn't like change, I welcome change but for me there isn't many things that have changed to make me want to upgrade into the new branch at this time. I'll stick with 3.x for now.

I must agree on that, its funny when people say new features! new features on latest vbulletin 4.0, but really I don't know what are those, may be they mean the asset manager feature, but frankly I don't need an asset manager. I need a good forum software that looks good, feels good and performs good, I don't need a third rated CMS and blog system on my forum. If I need those I can go for wordpress, drupal, joomla or mambo who are giants when it comes to those system. I see the latest CMS and blog integration in to forums from vbulletin as a failure.

They could have really focused up on developing a better layout and better feel to the design.

4.1 in 11-12 Jan. vBulletin seems to act like Google Chrome Release Version after every 2-3 days LOL, Beta 5 was launched 3 or 4 days ago.
