It depends upon your business. for eg. Would you like to get a business from india then .in is best or international business .com is best.

    Hi there

Every one will give priority to .com but it just a domain and it doesn't matter that which one is best. in seo all are equal.

As many said before, TLD doesn't matter. The reason why .com rank better than any other TLD is the fact that there are more .com domains than other TLD'd so you see more often a site with .com domain on the top.

.com could drive direct traffic to your site but regarding SEO there are no such rule that says .com or .org makes any difference.

It doesn't matter at all until and unless you go for ccTLD's. They have influence for SEO.

No. I think you are wrong. Domain tld is important for seo location. If you development a site for US and target for US, and you using a .cn or .in domain tld. You will very hard to get top 10

There is no "better" - whoever says one is better than the other should read up on SEO...

They both have specific purposes. If you are going to use a .org as an affiliate store, then you're just being plain dumb. If you're using a .org as a special interest or 'club' site, then you're doing the right thing.

Think of it this way: if you see a .com and .org appear in a SERP after searching for "cheap LED pointers," which are you going to click? Obviously the .com makes more sense, and it will be clicked more often, making it "better" in that case.

I am sorry but you are absolutely lost. Your .tld has jack shit to do with SEO. This entire thread is riddled with myths and bullshit.

geographic targeting is not the point of this conversation in the first place. You can tell google what to target geo wise with a one click solution in your webmaster tools.

But you need to make sure that if you will promote your site.org some of your traffic will be transfered to site.com

Google doesn't favor any specific domain extensions. It doesn't really matter which domain you choose. It boils down to quality linkbuilding!

For technical SEO purposes the TLD has no bearing (except I keep hearing .info is worse, but I havent seen any proof of that). Howeever people are more likely to link to you if its a .com site, so then it can affect SEO.

Be practical and down to facts.

For HUMANS, .com makes them remember easier.
    For BOTS, whatever works.
