most of the blog ownwers would ban your site if you have anchor text that are "keyword" related. for example.. if you comment on a blog with a Name of: "Pimple Treatment" they would ban you. or mark your comment as SPAM. if you comment on a blog with a Name of: Mike,. it is ok with the blog owner. Does backlinks with anchor text of "Mike" count on SEO ?
All links will count with google if they are NOT nofollow. Anchor text just helps give you a boost for that particular keyword, but it's still nice to get non keyword stuffed links. It looks more natural that way and boosts the authority of your domain.
Pretty nice idea. It's a matter of fact that backlinks, especially Do Follow backlinks, are worth something no matter what their link text is. Yea a good keyword stuffed link is great for SEO, but even an irrelevant link will still carry some weight with the search engines. As for me, I will do a blog post with irrelevant anchor text (e.g., a fake name), if the blog is either an .edu/.gov site, or the page PR (not the domain) is PR3 or higher.
I think he's talking about blog comments and how they let you turn your name into a hyperlink to a site you specify. I dont think any webmaster would "ban" you for doing this, that's the whole point of having the "my homepage" field in a blog comment area..
And keep commenting valueble to the blog owner, so don't post comments like "I loved reading your post" or "Great post" but read the article and try to contribute to the discussion.
