No buddy, The size of files is pretty cool to create a CD cover. Its a little bit larger but good to say that u can customize it as your requirement.
your 2nd image is 600x900, which is good for 2 inches wide by 3 inches tall at 300dpi(print quality) you need 300 pizels per inch you want to print. you can get away with scaleing the image by 25% or 33% in photoshop if you need it wider, or just make the bg wider.
Yes, the photos resolution is a bit too low. You can get away with digital printing @ 150dpi so that would give you an output size of 4 x 6 inches but the photos will not cover the whole CD. You could also try using an image interpolation software, some are free and give good results.
If this is for private need - then photos are good enough. But for industrial printing (thousands of copies) those two are small. Try to make a bigger photos, it's more preferable then using software.
