Who to contact when you are banned

One of my friends was banned a year ago and since then he didn't come back. The reason was that he had an account before but he forgot about that. Later he opened a new account and was instantly banned for double accounts.

He waited 6 month for the ban to lift and when he logged in he was banned again for another year or so.

The mods are very strict here I also got a lot of infractions already. My question is who to contact if you are banned?

I know this link: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showgroups.php but this has no use when you are banned (cannot send PM or email then).

My friend would like to get back to DP :)

I had allot of contests, tried to join but never received a confirmation email as you do when you register so I kept on registering thinking sometime I will get it in. After some searching on the internet I found something stating just log in without having received a account confirmation email. I tried it and it worked, you just register and immidiately you can log in. So the registration process had a BUG. Then some months later some idiot decides to ban me, which was very unfair, no one to contact to explain the situation. I found lots and lots of similar unhappy people out there. DP don't be unfair.

There is no need to contact anybody coz he is banned for duplicate account which is totally out of the rule.

To err is human, I was banned because DP never sent a confirmation email and then banned me weeks after that, just as I was getting into things.

If one could get a human to discuss this with the problem would be solved.
Ban croocks and bad people not just anyone because you can or some stupid script decided to.

Before you know it you could be banned for 6 months and then we'll see who you contact.

Who banned you in the first place, a script?
Then maybe a person is better to explain your situation to than a script.
Don't comment too soon, you could be next.

What was your user name of your banned account? How long is your ban?

    Thanks Brian

It is your responsibility to immediately let us know when you logged in for first time.

My guess is 99 out of 100 bans are valid. If you feel you were banned inappropriately, have a friend PM a mod with all pertinent info.

Some mods accept email from members. I do not. I have a white list and if you are not on my white list there is no way to contact me by email.

Kind of like an honest person stuck breaking into a store in order to eat and survive, I could see how it would be hard for some to come forth immediately.
I can also see from the example set on here it doesn't seem like admitting you're breaking the rules in any way at any time will get you anywhere.

Perhaps we should have a form to run through a ticket system where you have to enter your email address... I realize this could create a lot of extra work... but perhaps it could be reduced...

Another idea I had would be to make a Reform School. A place where you're forced to practice and recite the rules... Where there are all the Sticky posts in one place... and you CAN NOT access the rest of the forum... A sort of in house ban. That would retain the ability to communicate and learn from your mistakes. Temporary bans could practice for 7 days instead of being locked out. This would also increase DP's ad revenue from the troublemakers, or insomniacs like myself. I got a 7 day ban once. I think it was 7. Sometimes, like right now, I'm half asleep at 3:30am letting my thoughts wander. So I will make this my last post and go get some rest.
I see DP improving a lot, especially in the last while, I'm sure we'll see more good changes.
    -Mike.
P.S. Can anyone tell me why I don't seem to be able to create auctions anymore?

Some people don't have friends in this forum (or that they do, they just don't have contact with these friends outside of the forum).
If I didn't have a cousin here, I would be one of those people. I make friends, but I never take it elsewhere (it's kind of a waste of time, no?). Besides, I don't even contact my cousin to ask him to do stuff for me when I'm banned here, he has his own life & his own problems, he's very busy so I don't involve him with my problems since after all, they're not his to begin with.
So apparently, that could pose as a problem if trying to contact one of the mods when banned, if you didn't know anyone else here to contact.

& As for ctrader not bringing it up sooner, that one however beats me. But I do understand what he's saying about the forum bug, & it not being completely his fault.

What was I supposed to bring up?
I was trying to urgently register on "THE" IT forum and as I am a novice I thought the fault was obviously on my side. How can the site just let you keep on registering. Then after some searching I found a post on the web about just logging in without waiting for a confirmation email, I was so happy that I was in. For me a newby on the forum it was huge what should a novice like me report to the IT specialist of the world regarding their registration process. I registered in beginning June 09 got banned 19 August 2009 till 18 November 2009, so they let me have access with duplicate accounts (which I did not realy know of) for 2 1/2 months and then boom you are banned for 3 months. This obviously tells me someone adjusted a script looking for duplicate accounts and that was the end of me.

Lessons learned, when you join dp make some friends ASAP because if are kicked out there is no other way to make yourself heared. You might be a happy dp user today but you can get banned right now for something you have done some months ago.
