Use keywords in titles and urls.
Use internal linking with targeted keywords in anchor texts.
Use search-friendly urls in your ecommerce store.

Simply you can remove any REM (comment) tags on your script or remove space between lines of code.. It helps to improve loading page. If you want to using SEO optimization, use Google Trends, Google Webmaster, or get some suggestion from Submit-Express.com..

    Hi shibi,

Your question is too broad. It's either you meant how to optimize an e-commerce site in search engines or how to optimize an e-commerce site to make it work more efficiently in converting visitors to customers.

With regard to the latter, there are many ways you can optimize your website in search engines to get its rank improved. You can invite guest bloggers to write blogs or writers who can write high quality articles that are rich in keywords related to your website and submit them to article directories. But I don't advise you to go to forums and spam.

Now to the former, most e-commerce websites have good traffic but they seem to have difficulty converting these visitors into customers. Why? Because their websites lack customer service. People would prefer going to a website where they can interact with someone and answer their inquiries immediately. I suggest you get a live chat support software and get live chat operators on your website 24 hours a day 7 days a week including holidays.

There are lots of live chat software available. What I have on my website is live247support.com because of their 6 cents per minute billing which is easy on my budget.

    Hope it helps.

hi, for e-commerce websites, you need to have the URL rewriting, thats the biggest challenge a webmaster face about this fact.

    2) breadcrumb
    3) content and description to each prduct.
    4) meta tag placement.

The other things you can do is,

    Offpage optimization work for
    a) article writing
    b) social bookmarking
    c) affiliate marketing

If you have short of time, you can hire a seo consultant here on DP.

If you want to optimize your website, SEO is the direct way and it includes many aspects, like anti-link. For SEO, choosing a correct key word is of great importance so that you can not only improve the site's SEO targeted, but also understand your customers in-depth. A long-term observation and study of key words can also make you a more accurate grasp of market dynamics.

You need to use proper meta tags and be sure that your images are named properly or should I say keyword driven.

To build links to your eCommerce sites you can use some or all of the following techniques, and this is far from a comprehensive list of options:

    •Article marketing
    •Directory Submission
•Social bookmarking (digg, propeller, reddit, del.icio.us, etc)
•Social networking (facebook, linkedin, myspace, squidoo, etc)
    •Blog posts and comments
    •Content seeding
    •Forum posts
    •Video marketing
    •Podcasting
    •Publicity
