is this possible to do at godaddy..

    is it possible to havea domain name at godaddy and not have hosting there? if i dont have hosting, will my site still be online for people to see? will i still be able to edit and manage it without hosting?

    Yes, you can buy a domain at GoDaddy and have it hosted elsewhere. If you don't have hosting, no one can see your site, because you won't have a site, you'll only have a domain name ... and until you do have a hosted site, there will me nothing to edit and manage, except what you have in your own computer files.

    Yes, all you have to do is change the nameservers for your domain in your GoDaddy account to the nameservers of whatever web hosting company you go with. Login to your godaddy account and find your domain manager.
    Then click on the domain name that you want to change the nameservers for. Enter in the nameservers from your web hosting account and click OK

    I agree with Warcher, it's true that you can purchase a domain at GoDaddy and have it hosted elsewhere. However, if you don't have hosting, no one will see your website, what you have is just a domain name, which is a vacant shape.
