Does SEO ever drive you crazy?

I think optimizing a website is easy enough, and getting good backlinks is practically my specialty, but aside from that, I find trying to rank for Competitive terms requires a crazy amount of patience.

I spent a year ranking #1 for a term once, and let me tell you about 9 months in steady backlinking and your about ready to throw the computer out the window.

The key seems to be faith... and a silly amount of good backlinks. Stay patient guys... that's the key.

Yes, I agree that patience is the key here. It can be kind of daunting task to follow up .

I just do a bunch of SEO work and then try to forget about it for a few weeks then check back.

True, patience is an SEO virtue, just come to think Google only updates PageRank every other three months and that's only 4 times a year.

Check the keyword quality and KEI of the word. If Keyword efficiency index is lower, the better the keyword is for your site and if it is higher you need to change it.

Sometimes, you can't help it! Sometimes Google is not that friendly by means of stability of my rankings and that's what I hate. But of course I know all the crazyness of Google but still I'm affected.

Completely agree. That's the reason why doing SEO need ongoing business with high quality work and experienced SEO experts to help generate traffic to the domains.

I have been involved in SEO not so long but with the wish to help pushing customers sites to the top of google using the best current SEO methods around, I never feel frustrated with SEO time consuming. I'm an SEO addicter, I must admit

Well, the rankings keep on fluctuating every day. I just keep in mind that my site doesnt drop much. If there is a minor fluctuation then no problem , otherwise the reasons for such drop has to be considered and a remedial action should be taken.

I'm seriously addicted to SEO. I check my rankings every single day, and sometimes, they all stand still, on the exact same position. I know they're not supposed to rank higher in one day, but still... it makes me really frustrated. I can't help checking the SERP of my websites everyday. Reply to the thread title: Yes, SEO always drives me crazy.
