hello, i have two tech news blogs that i want to add a small forum to each, but i have tried wp-forum and it takes me to a 404 page. so that doesnt work. what is the best WP forum plugin that is not very resource heavy? Offtopic: does a forum help bring visitors back and bring new visitors also?
To answer the other question, we use Simple Press on our WP/WPMu installs. wp-forums has had too many security problems in the past. http://simplepressforum.com It's an actual wp plugin so it should work fine. And if you;re running wordpress, you;re already resource heavy. edit: What's with all of the wp forum questions all of the sudden?
well, i have a WP site and i want to put a forum on there, but i dont know whether i should use a plugin within the blog, or if i should make a subdomain for the site and use bbPress instead. i know DP uses vBulletin but i dont want to spend money on it so ya...
No, I mean there's like five threads just today asking "What forum software should I use on my wp site?" Three of them are still on the front page: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=110 Like 5 people one right after another in burger king asking "Do you sell hamburgers?" Not a biggie.
oooooh ok, ya i dint feel like going thru the threads and wanted some quick answers so i just asked outright. lol
No, not funny. Rather rude actually. You take time away from those who actually need help or have legit questions. Makes you look lazy to boot.
The poster asked for plugins. bbpress is not a plugin, it;s a separate install that (if you set it up right and that's a big if) shares the usertable.
