Google Sandboxed! From 200 visitors per hour to 10!

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by jijigren, Nov 3, 2009.

I am totally frustrated to learn about one of my blog which its traffic has been dropped from 200 per hour visitors to only about 10! Just yesterday it is doing well in Search Engine. And today I found out that almost all my primary keywords has dropped and nowhere to be seen. I hate to accept that the blog which I have worked on so hard has been sandboxed by Google.

The blog is more than 1 year old. With more than 1000 posts. I am desperate for help. Is there any ways for me to implement to get out from the sandbox effect?

I saw your alexa traffic rank. You have regular curves of drastic drop of traffic at every month end . End of month your traffic drop drastically. and also traffic rise happens in beginning of every month. And you get max traffic in mid of month.
Also, you should not do black hat things and provide value.

I never done any black hat lah. But my backlinks might be the problem. I use too much social bookmarkings. I guess that is the real issue. Now the traffic begins to rise again. Some of users are right, keep updating contents and build more backlinks.

get backlinks from authority sites, sites that were known to be trusted by google, avoid the quantity of backlinks since it is the reason why google has sandboxed your website, quality is what you really needed for now.

If you build a lot of backlinks now you can emerge from the sandbox even higher than before.

Just build quality backlinks and you should emerge higher out of the sandbox than you were before.

why do you think it got sandboxed... are the pages still indexed ? is yes.. then its not sandboxed and may be penalized ... mind sharing the link for analysis.

oh BTW: is it a FREE blog?

    Hi

Im glad to say that after submitting my website for reconsideration, all the traffic has been 50%+ normal now. The rankings are all back to its previous place since several days ago.

It is true that it get penalized. I learn about getting backlinks from the same accounts in social bookmarkings could be the big reason. Another reason is duplicating content (some contents might look similar in meaning, even though the article and sentence structures are different, if you get my drift).

The ranking that still up is for web pages/URLs with backlinks from article directories, blog commenting, social bookmarkings.

If your site is 1 year old it is sure not in the sandbox. The sandbox is for new sites too prive itself. I think the main reason why your blog is losing traffic is the overdoing of social news sites.

Do you have outgoing links for affiliate marketing? better add "nofollow" tag to it.
I think it's time to diversify the sources of backlinks. Try to get backlinks from Hubpages for a while, using Name/url option.

I have read that opting for Google Adwords helps in cancelling the sandbox effect. Worth trying as you have already invested lot of effort into your website.
