    Hi
If this board prevent threads about proxies, please mods close and delete it.
I usually use software to change my ip on windows like hotspot shield, ultrasurf and hide-ip, now i am preparing to move permanently to Linux and it is very important to me to use other ips to view blocked sites so now i am changing manually the firefox proxy settings and i am using free anonymous proxies to get the job done.
Now my question: I don't care about my privacy, there is no problem that sites gather information about me BUT are my passwords safe when i am using this method of changing my proxy? Lets say i signed in to my youtube account, is it possible that third party can view my password in this case?

Please i don't need opinions, I need facts.

Well I only use free proxies for browsing non sensitive stuff like game sites blocked from my office. But for email, paypal and the like, I don't think I'll be using proxies for them.

that depends on the proxy owner :D if he is evil he can log the details but normally its ok to use proxies because proxy owners are interested in making little money via ads :)

but CC , paypal usage in proxies should be avoided.

A proxy server has two purposes:
*To keep macjines behind it anonymous (mainly for security)
    * To speed up access to a resource (via caching).

u mean sock5? well they usually have less validity and die off very soon, and are quite slow compared to phproxy.

I think proxies are not safety to use because some can got unauthorized access to your computer .
Which probably you do not want.
Or probably they have some sort of virus which can harm your cmputer or affect it any other way.

Only use a proxy for something that requires a password when you control the proxy and the network it's on.
