Honestly, all you have is the skin... No content.

 

If you think your website is worth the thousands range then you'll have to provide some solid proof on why (Like Traffic and Revenue). If you have ideas to get the place "bumpin" then you should implant them first then turn around and sell it once it takes off, or stick with it.

I develop high priced web developments, and the skin + domaing and license were over $1k. Thanks for your input?

I'm afraid everyones thoughts are correct, personally to this guy wanting to sell, it may be worth more, due to his time skinning etc, he thinks the domain is worth a fair bit too etc..

At best it's worth 200-300 dollars, if the skin is unique and the VB is not a nulled one.

A lot of people on DP sell blind, they base a sale on personal expectations and value, which is why they should not sell it.

Overpaying for development does not justify charging a very high price, I'm tired of seeing this over and over

If a ton of wheat is sold on the futures market for 100$, and I spend 120$ to produce the same ton of wheat, it just means one thing: I should not produce wheat because I'll lose money.

I don't understand why people, instead, think "Hey, I'll just sell the ton of wheat for 200$, saying that I spent 120$ to produce it"

Ok, let me first off say I am a web developer with properties that have sold for $XX,XXX under my belt. I know what designs are worth and coding. This is digital point one of the biggest marketplace jokes. However, rarely but sometimes you find buyers. The design cannot be reproduced and coded for 100$ or simply getting a vb license.

I can do $120, nothing special AT ALL about the skin.

 

...really go get a skin for $120 similar. This place gets worse and worse. Not even worth my time of listing in all honesty.

Not to mention the great domain and licensed vb software.

 

The fact that your offended that other people dont value your skin as you do is fine but thats just the way it is. Theres a reason why your still trying to sell it, be cause no one ANYWHERE not just DP has bought it from you. So claim that DP is a joke all you want, fact is you haven't sold the skin anywhere and your attitude makes things even worse.

 

I've listed it on two forums which I haven't even tried to sell. On launch day I was offered $1,500 alone. Still in talks with him, he is a busy business man whom owns sum 200 forums and is hard to contact. He came to me, however.

 

People have the right to question a website being sold for $1,000+ based on looks rather than stats. Especially considering the bad PR you gave it when you were accused of stealing another forum (talkfreelance.com) and redirecting it to WebDevPlace without the owner's permission.
In the age of Photoshop, a great design is not as rare and valuable as it once was.

 

The designer is Chris Rowe whom you cannot get a forum designer for under $500 normally. (Which that includes 2 pages, I believe we have 4 psd's)
