Automating directory submissions

    have notices various directory submission software available. I thought about using one but how do the get passed the code to make sure the submission is human?

    Thats sorta the point of having such code there... to stop spam. Auto-submissions cant be described with any other term.

    It isnt good for you (nor for any directory) to have the same description as appears on numerous other sites. Duplicate content is A_Bad_Thing. It takes longer to do it the right way, but it is more effective. Try not working to get around the rules of the directory and giving them the courtesy of a handwritten submission. If not, be prepared to be considered just another spammer.

    once i have tried one tool and found complicated and not so accurate then i went for manual submission as that was time consuming but it was more accurate....

    Using auto-submission software is like pulling a 286 pc out of mothballs. Auto submission was a real cool thing about 12 years ago. Things changed.

    To be honest I like doing it manually, I know it takes longer but it gives me a chance to really look at the site and pick the category that I will get the most benefit from.

    It might be possible to interop to an OCR application like the one offiered by MS but probably not with the best results. Like everyone here says, do it with a tool, but manually for best results.
