what are some good sites that offer royalty free pictures. It doesn't have to be free but I don't want to be spending more than $10 per picture. I've been seeing a lot of people complaining on the legal issues thread about getty images persecuting them and I don't want to end up in the same situation. What are some trusted sites that will defer you from having such issues. Thanks
You should be able to find plenty of sites for free pictures. Just google 'royalty free photos, royalty free images, royalty free pictures'. You may want to check out their terms and conditions to be 100% clear. The sites will tell you if it's ok to use the images. Hope that helps.
I did but there are some sites that claim to be royalty free but not really and then you get your ass kick by some large money grabbing company asking you to pay up for using their pics. So I want to know trusted sites who are actually providing royalty free images and not just images they got off random pages of the web

Istockphoto is a great site, the pics have a 1 time fee. Here is a flickr group that has free stock photos up, you just need to email the author about where you are using the photo http://www.flickr.com/groups/stock/

You can use Google Images search. 1. Go to Google Images. 2. Click Advanced Image Search (next to the search button). 3. Type a search term in the search box. 4. Go to the "Usage Rights" setting, and filter your results by the type of license. You have the option to only show images that are... -Labeled for reuse (without modification) -Labeled for commercial reuse (without modification) -Labeled for reuse with modification -Labeled for commercial reuse with modification

Go to this digital picture forum and post what you are looking for - http://www.digitalpictureforum.com/ Most photographers have thousands of stock images. Sometimes all you have to do is ask in the right place, and you might be handed what you are looking for.

sxc.hu has a nice selection. Although personally I prefer to spend a little bit more for a more professional finish.
