i only kept alll the featured listings from the last one. all the regular links are gone.

 

Did you keep a backup of your database before you dumped everyone's regular listings by any chance? I'm only asking because you might wish to reconsider doing what you just did after you read what folks happen to think about directory owners who do that. I recommend this thread:

You've been banned from my free directories and I hope you make absolutely NO MONEY.

You want the free links and publicity from other directories and directory lists whether solicited or not and then drop collective hours of effort by this community.

Sorry to say but this is fraud. If you promise to add regular links and delete them, then you are terminating a contract especially since you had no reason to do so.

BTW did u have written anywhere that regular links are only valid for a limited period of time?

If yes then you have a right to do what you did.

 

Yeah I don't really advice you to do that mate. I did the same, and was a biggg problem.

 

I never got a listing. But that is messed up, you have just destroyed any chance of making some money. Good luck any way.

Stupidity is endless you just throu as a garbage so many people hard work ( why the heck directorys do this i as a directory owner will never do this but others are JUST RUDE VERY RUDE

Once again a probe to me that indians are unprofesional and ethical (sorry amit your the only one that i admire from India and sory for others hard workin and honest indians but this crap makes me angry )

 

ok, lets see as it was a free directory i know there was quality submissions, but 70% of the submissions i was getting were spam.

The site was getting 100 submissions a day, and result 20 were approved, and 80 not approved. Submission from tons of bots. Direct hits just to the submit page.

I was left no choice, but to move to paid, and delete all the entries. Now you give me bad rep. or say what. But if you think i am being wrong here, why don't you approve the links for me, and i will be happy to accept all the free links.

As an owner of the site, i have full rights to terminate the free service when it is used forgranted.

I am sorry to upset the follow webmasters, but you have to understand my situation also. It won't be worth putting effort reviewing when all i was gettting was spam submissions. Sites like i-make-money-101.com etc etc.

By the way i am not indian. So keep your stereotype to yourself.

think about what you're doing. you're alienating yourself within a community that revolves around what you are doing. Definately not the wisest of choices.

as a directory owner it's your responsibility to maintain it. to complain about submissions and then just delete everyone elses links that have already been approved will no doubt give you a bad rep amongst your other directory owners and peers.

 

Its your directory to do what every with it--submitted criticdirectory with reciprocal. Good Luck!

 

It is suprisingly stupid to delete all your listings and leave empty categories. Now Google will just tag your directory as duplicate content. As a directory owner, did that ever cross your mind?

Now who would still pay to be listed? Best of luck in getting out of this mess.

Oh, yeah. Of course you are getting spam daily. Because you don't even have any spam filters set up in your submissions page. I have auto approval on and I get little or no spam.
