I noticed this was posted over on the phpLD forums not too long ago. http://www.m-software.de/thumbshots/simple.php made the thumbnail upon entering the URl. Give it a try and see how well it works. Rob
Was just passing what came across the forum over at phpld We don't know how long the MSN alternative will last, so maybe other alternatives may need to be looked into. I think what needs to be done is they need to be created first. Afterwhich they are chached in their system. Rob edit: yes, i just tried it. it appears to be set in a way so that if the thumbnail does not exist, it will then render it. After which if/when it is referenced again, it loads fast. http://www.m-software.de/screenshot/Screenshot.png?url=http://www.directorydump.com <--loads fast because it was already created try replacing the end url with your site. see how long it takes to render, and then after that re-reference it again and see how fast it loads. (i cleared my cache and closed my browser to make sure it wasn't local) i do admit it is a tad slow, but can also provide an alternative at the expense of a few seconds to render. Rob
Just had a chance to implement the thumbshots by http://www.m-software.de/thumbshots/simple.php into my directory. What do you think? http://www.fatinfo.com
