Some Questions From A Newbie

Discussion in 'Affiliate Programs' started by efuller, Nov 15, 2009.

I am brand new to the Affiliate Marketing area, but not to web programming. I have been pouring over this forum for a few days now and gaining a wealth of knowledge!

I would like to get some recommendations on which Affiliate Marketing program that would be best for a beginner. It seems that Clickbank may be a good option from what I am reading.

Is it best to buy a domain name and then either setup a landing page or blog, or is setting up a page on blogger ok? I will want to do what is best for SEO, but free is always good.

Also, what are some good strategies when choosing a product to promote?

I could spend the next hour writing questions, but I will work to find more answers on my own.

Any tips would be great appreciated.

    Thanks,

    ~E

Commission Junction is the best by my opinion, because thay have tons of advertisers and very professional site design and lots of things are done for a user - try them out is a must for a beginner like me also. I'm building a .com site for a month now, waiting to launch it when it's done. Don't think that bloggers are attractive to visitors, but who knows.. imho, best way is .com domain
Choose whatever you want, but try to choose things you like, because you'd gonna get bored of programming if you go that way
Also, do a keyword research, to find easy way to the top ;)

There are a ton of various ways you can do affiliate marketing. Some good places to sign up are Commission Junction CPAlead, and azoogle. Though a top level domain is not completely neceessary, many affiliate networks require you to have a TLD.

If you sign up with Clickbank you must have your own domain name. The blog sites are free, but CB won't accept those URLs. Hope this helps & good luck!

I suggest you get a domain for yourself. It makes your landing page look more professional and can increase your converts by over 90%!

About finding the products, if you are confident about your marketing skills, choose something you'd love to market. If not, look for products that convert well and try to duplicate the success. When you have enough saved up, invest into more high paying products.

If you're just starting out, definitely CB and CJ.

CJ are a little bit stricter, advertisers have a right to decline your application.

    Clickbank will take anybody!

I am also newbie in internet marketing (focus on affiliate) about one year ago. I start using Clickbank. First I do to get extra money is:

    a) Find profitable product/niche in CB
    b) Cloak my affiliate link
    c) Create my presell page
    d) Promote using free source such as forum, squidoo and viral marketing
    e) Waiting for commission

This guide is work me. Also you can if you work hard...;)
