Useful list. Above listed many ways are based on advertising by site owner. But best traffic that is useful to website is targeted traffic. Some ways of above are best to get this type of traffic. Google, Yahoo etc. search engine's traffic is really good because people want to search something eagerly. However Social bookmaking, Articles, Press release, Video marketing are always best in this list, also they are useful to build quality backlinks to your website which may generate organic traffic for the selected keywords. ubs

I found the ebook about 77 ways to get free traffic from Michael Roberts' Blog very interesting. But anyway, among the strategies i like when generating traffic is through joining social network sites like twitter and facebook. Blog commenting as well is one great way to have traffic and build backlinks. I know that there are tons of ways to generate traffic and promote websites, we just need to spend time doing it and have a positive thinking towards it.
If you have money, spend it and outsource this stuff. If you don't, you gotta spend the time. If you have neither, give up now and go make your money somewhere else.
