Can't access any antivirus site

I don't know what monster infection I have, but I can't access any antivirus site nor microsoft.com so I can't download any antivirus nor updates, nor msn live, visual basic etc... I can access these kind of sites when in safe mode, but I can't install programs because some services are off in safe mode. I used search & Destroy, I scanned my computer with antiviruses, I scanned with spyware doctor... I downloaded HostsXpert which recover the original host file and seemed to help once when my father had the very same problem (but actually this was temporary). Formatting hard disks is not an option because I have about 500 gb which I can't afford to lose. I used ComboFix (which killed Vista on my father's computer) and it didn't help with mine, I used spyware blaster, and got tired of scanning with programs which don't help. So, what do you suggest to do?

If you can't do it in safe mode, I'd go to another computer and use a flash drive (thumb drive usb) and put an anti virus on there (or at least the install) then come back to the infected computer and install, then run.

    Hope this helps

find out what you have first then find ways to remove enough of it to move on. Maybe install Spybot Search and Destroy first.

A visitor to my household was using one of my PC's running Windows XP. I think he downloaded a virus or trojan or malware.

How does the Conficker Eyechart look?

Welcome to your first lesson on making daily/weekly backups ;)

Copy all your data to an external/separate drive. Then format and reinstall your OS, and scan your backups for problems. There's not much more you can do.

Have you tried using MalwareBytes? Also as Kerosene above said, if you cant find a way to remove the virus at least back-up all your data onto a external HDD before the virus crashes your whole hard drive or something.
