My clicks went down from 45 cents each to 3 cents each!?

I started my blog last week and the first few days I barely got anyone clicking on my ads but I made 45 cents each click, and today I finally had success with clicks only to find out I'm getting 3 cents a click? What do you think hapend?

Mainly it depends on the ads your visitors clicked.
Don't wary you may see more of clicks that get you around 5 cents each.

Wherever your new clicks are coming from apparently isn't an audience that is worth much.

I've had times where the initial traffic generated from building links results in decent CPC, then when Google picks the site up and search visitors start showing up in droves the CPC tanks.

Always check google adwords on how profitable your topics are before you post

    Well that's EXACTLY the problem.

My site is devoted to UFC/MMA and the ads I had last week when I was getting 45 cents a click are the exact same as the ads this week that are only getting 3 cents a click,

That is what happens during a crappy economy like this. Advertisers are paying less to promote their products thus resulting in us publishers making less. If they are the same ads, then the company found that they are getting poor return-on-investment on their advertising... Lots of people clicking, not that many people buying, so they reduced their ad spending costs.

Don't worry buddy, its bound to step back up sooner or later :)

You never know. One day decent rates the next day terrible. It's always up and down. Part of the fun I guess.

Some advertisers might have backed out so your CPC dropped.

Because its UFC, your cpc might increase when they have a show and drop when there is not much activity.

i think it depends on the ads google are serving if the ads is public ads then the earings would be low but when the ads is private ads then the earings would be high
    to my point of view

I found that too...the more clicks you get, the lower the price. I think google does some "secret" algorithm to make themselves more money...

I don't know how true this is. But I heard it is good to have only 1 ad block on a page, so that the highest bidders would show. If you have up to 3, the low bidders would be showing on your page, and someone might click on them.
