This is just another reason why I bought my PS3. Like Ksalman92, said internet is free and there isn't any banning of BSOD.
1 question, surely you are only being banned if you are undertaking what is pretty much illegal activity. Sorry but I don't see what right people have to complain if that is the case. If I am wrong then I am very sorry.
Of course. You can bet your ass people are already working on it. Game --> Piracy Crack --> Copy Protect --> Copy Crack --> etc...etc...etc... It's like the cycle of life.
Basically they track your IP when they find something is wrong. Some people get banned for nothing aswell.
firmware detection, currently on wave 5. and yes many 360's which were not flashed have been banned too. there was leak on the net by a MS xbox executive on how MS is doing it, google it and read it, you will know the full thing. they are just hoping to hike sales pre xmas but this has rebounded in a bad way for them.
Look at the end of the day don't mod your XBOX it's against their terms. I don't feel any remorse for people getting banned. Serves them right. Also if you're a modder but don't play copied games then simply don't take your xbox online. You should maintain 2 xboxes one for online and one for offline, that's what I do.
Indeed they did :|. Mine is modded yes but, like you allthatjazz, over the past two months, I've played ODST - which I bought and Modern Warfare 2 since Thursday. Friday morning worked great, Friday night and I was banned. £45 effing pounds, so I can play online (and support the company cuz I loved CoD4:MW, and this is what I get? And what's even more annoying is, my partner wanted to play it as well and online together. So, we bought another console and not just the one game but, two of them. £90 worth of games to play online and I can't :|. Well except on the new one. And I could have saved the money on the console and just got the PS3 version but no, wanted it on Xbox 360. Now however, I may take the 360 back and get a PS3 and change both games for the PS3 version :|.
It doesn't matter if you're playing a legit copy of the game, you can't mod an xbox used for online connectivity. So what if you buy there game, you've explicitly broken their terms and conditions.
i hear you man , esp for MW2 i had pre ordered the copy for 360 not p.c this time cause IW screwed us over without dedi servers and i had already finished the campaign now i have useless copy for 360 and i have bought another for p.c now which for online you know how it sucks this time. @tradedemon that's what they want us to do, buy 2 boxes but it is not going to happen , going to get a ps3 soon.
I think this is very fair, people with modded Xbox's are either cheating in games or getting games free. Why should they get games free when other people pay? Plus, they will now have to make a new account and buy XBL.
Nah not at all! For once I can do something that I know everyone is on the same level! No cheats, hacks or cracks on anyone that plays on live! Everyone is playing with skill alone. I'm glad they have banned people playing with modded consoles! With the 'credit crunch' we need big companys to keep employment levels up, if people are stealing by copying games then the companies loose money and in turn people loose jobs! If people want to play copys then fair enough, but you read the terms of xbox live when you signed up so don't moan
I dont understand, did Microsoft ban the modded xbox 360 users from going on Xbox live? Or from getting customer service? Really, most modded Xbox users don't care honestly.
+1 They sell so many copies of the games that the development cost divided by the amount of games sold would be pennies and the cost to mass produce CD cases, blank DVD disk, then burn the game onto the disk is nothing. It must cost them well under $5 per game.
