Overblown price. If this were 2003 when directories were cool, I'd say go for it. Otherwise, put that $300 toward something way more productive, like getting quality articles written.
Thanks, I'm updated. Now I would like to say that if you get listed on search engines by paying such an amount and still not able to get more than what you have paid for it, this is a bad idea. But if you get more, this is nice to do. Analyze your content and the ads you get on them, see what per click you get and think how much can you make from more traffic.
CLARIFICATION: Correct BUT doesnt apply to this thread or the directory in question. Big SEs distinguish between "paid directories" (ie- pay the fee & you're guaranteed entry) vs "Pay-for-review" directories (where the payment simply guaranties an expedited review). BOTW does not fit the definition of a "paid directory". They allow a free queue option and also add many sites found by its editors without charge. They do offer expedited review for a fee, and even if the fee is paid BOTW is known for rejecting submissions that don't match the stated listing criteria. As such they don't fall under the prohibition about "paid directories"... in fact many trusted venues look favorably on sites that pass successfully thru a process of a site review by humans (as opposed to simply being listed for a fee in auto-accept directories).
BOTW is an old and estalished web directory. The price is ok I think if your website is the online image of your business. It is amusing how those with MFA sites or the QBCs are whoring the threads and throw with shit everywhere. Make the prices of your directory lower and you will see the quality of the submissions you will get. BOTW rules
Interesting comment considering how many pages are indexed. site:botw.org Results 1 - 10 of about 1,940,000 from botw.org Received a reminder email yesterday - the price increase is Dec. 1.
