LOL I'm not half as mean as you'd think. I just have very low bullshit tolerance, and there's a lot of that around here sometimes.

I'm assuming you're asking me because releases are mentioned in my sig, but if you meant someone else sorry. My client schedule is booked several months in advance, and I won't be taking on new clients in the foreseeable future because of that. However, there are a couple of other good writers for press releases here including Jason Martin (marketjunction), Chris Bibey (keywordsandcopy), and Rebecca Garland (internetauthor).

Agreed, and glad you're getting answers. At least you're asking questions to try to understand the rules and such instead of ignoring them. :)

Just making members to pass a mandatory test (which is composed from various points in rules) before they can post, can be a good idea, as it would FORCE users to read and get familiar with the rules

I have seen such policies at some corporate places, where they force down the users and new employees with a mandatory IT training including Q&A before giving them network access

Thanks JH - Too bad you're booked for PR's. I try to find qualities that you have in all of the people that do work for me in any way. Thanks for all your help though.

new - You're right, and that's along the lines of what my _Suggestion_ for DP was... Something to help introduce new members. It's like when you were back in grade school and high school and you changed schools... Somebody in the class was forced to be your buddy for the day, be nice to you, show you around and try to make friends with you. If you don't get along after the first day, fine, but it helps everybody follow the rules and be comfortable, and takes some of the weight off the teachers.

That's actually a very good idea, after people agreed to the rules give them 10 MCQ questions to answer with a link to re-read the FAQ.

I guess the OP can certainly channel some of his positive energies right here online. Guide when the discussions go wary or out of point. Report when you see spammers or scammers in action. There are a lot of ways to help and mentor the forum at large rather than 1:1. Appreciate your thoughts though.

    WHAT???????

Next you'll ask for GRE scores, GMAT 700+ and TOEFL scores uh???

    Hey! This is a forum.

People are not applying for MBA programs in Carnegie Mellon or Michigan Ross universities.:p

Forcing the users to do things like that is not going to help the users or the forum. In fact, It will severely hurt the number of new member sign up's to the forum.

I appreciate your thoughts as well. That's why I made this thread, and many others I've made before. Some have been a little more misguided in the past, but thanks to the thousands : one ratio I keep gathering more information at an exponential rate allowing me to help more. I just think some people need more hands on help, that's why the school systems and workplaces are becoming more lenient with rules and more into preventative education. There is a lot of that here, and it is kind of the purpose and mode of a forum so that's good too.

So you'd be offering language lessons too? Can you teach me Chinese? :)

Just follow the rules, or click on the links that lead the the rules so you can read and follow them. ;)
There's also a bunch of stickies to follow.
Really, the golden rule of DP is, "If it's valuable to only you and the OP, PM it."

LOL. If you want to contract my company I would be happy to assign a Chinese speaking liaison to assist you!

This thread is getting some good info and good links. We should add some more and keep it going, will be helpful to many other members.
I've actually noticed in some old pinned threads, other members mentioning things like training and help learning how DP works.
Anyone interested in co-authoring such an ebook we can offer for download?
