I have a website with PR4. Is it true that in order to get PR5 or more, I should have a link from say PR5 or PR6? Then only, I can increase my PR? What are the ways upgrade PR from 4 to more? Thanks.
The only way to get higher PR (doesnt matter 5 6 7 8) is to get higher than your existing PR to link in to your site. The better quality the linking in, the better it is
Good content and more high quality backlinks, or links to other sites which one has a higher pr than yours.
So, if I want to raise my PR from 4 to 5, I need at-least few links from PR5 website. Does it need to be from the same niche?
Pages with higher pagerank that don't have a lot of other links on the page that link to your site will through more juice your way. If they are smaller pagerank linking to your site you need much more. They should be dofollow and if the site homepage is pagerank 5, but your link is on an internal page with only pagerank 2 you will get less juice. Try to find an actual page that is dofollow and higher rank, which gets more difficult. Just keep plugging away at it.
Agree with most of the above posts instep to increase PR, But have to say tho.. maybe you should focus more on your website ranking in the SERP's along with how it converts at the end of the day rather than focusing on your site PR Getting a PR5 won't get you more profit unless you're willing to sell text links and risk it all, right ?
drop a comment containing your pr4 links on many pr3 page make it about 100 of it and then u will see next update is PR5 conform!
create more quality backlinks links to your site, create more unique content into your site and you should good be ok.
Getting links from PR 5 or 6 domains in your industry is the easiest way to get high page rank in the coming google PR updates
The best way to do this is to pay to add your url in at least 3 directories with at least PR5. If you don't want to pay, you have to add daily content, work hard with social bookmarking and exchange links with at least PR4 and higher PR is also recommended. Hard work is the key. Good Luck

hi, If you want to upgrade PR 4 to PR 5.It can be done by getting backlinks from PR 5 Quality sites .The more u get PR 5 links the more chances to upgrade PR 4 to PR 5.
Try to get as many TARGETED backlinks onto your website. By doing this, you will be able to gain higher authority and eventually google will increase your page rank. It's all a popularity contest imo.
You don't "need" a PR 5 or higher site to link to you. Remember, even links from lower Page Rank sites do add up. Plus, a link from a PR3 site with only a few outgoing links is worth more than a PR5 site with a whole bunch of outgoing links. In terms of SEO, it is always a better idea to get these links from related sites. However, if you just want to see your PR go up, then it doesn't matter if these sites are relevant. I do notice, however, that once you get to PR 4 it seems quite hard to go higher. I remember acquiring dozens and dozens of relevant, high PR links for one of my PR 4 sites. My site went up and up in the search engine results. Then, when the Page Rank bar was finally updated, I was still sitting at a PR of 4. Hmmmm. Oh well, I was still happy that my visitors had doubled. Best of luck.
As google.com have PR10 you're saying they have links from websites with PR11???? LOL. In order to get higher PR you need more PR juice to go your way.
