I agree with your statement but, no, the post was not appropriate. Since it's just between you and the original poster, a pm would have been more in order. Gotta admit I've pretty much given up on reporting posts. One look at the repeats in the BST subforums that have been reported over and over again makes it seem to me that's it's just a waste of time. Like I said, negative rep is the way to go along with a description of why you;re giving the neg rep.
I have better things to neg rep on. Like the 465th blogger v. Wordpress thread I've seen since I've been here. *sigh* Like I said I agreed with your statement, just not the way it was presented.
I think Google are great. lets face it, if you think back 10 years (those of you who are old enough. lol) and you recall the pre-Google net you realise how that company have pushed things along. Mostly in a very positive direction. Although they were not the first company to use PPC technology, through adsense they have popularised it and empowered loads of people to earn a bit (and in some cases a lot) of money. Also remember that 'a bit of money' in the Californian sense can mean a living wage to someone living in a poor, developing country. People like nothing better than to bash the big guy off the pedestal. A few years ago, Google were seen as the coolest thing on the palnet...a cool techie company with a silly post-modern name doing great things to challenge the (then) big guys. I, too, have my reservations about the company of course (like sharing many board members with Apple for e.g) and support could be better in some areas. Also when companys get so big, its good to 'keep an eye on them' for abuse of the power they wield. But I would conclude that Google is, at its heart, the same cool, quirky, innovative company it was when everybody liked them.
