I heard that having a blog on Google gives you importance, so I started a blog, now when I read more, I found that having your own domain has its own value. So what you people think about this?

I want to know one thing more:
Using wordpress is better or would you like to use blogger for better professional blogging?

I am a blogger and for your question which is better "Wordpress or Blogger" I suggest Wordpress.

Wordpress is easy to use and it has many pluginns.

I have also heard stories like you get indexed in Google very soon if you have a blog on blogspot. Is it right?

    yes and no.

if you post good content, yes.

if you fill your website with ads, no.

Try getting started on http://wordpress.com/ and then if you like it, you can register your domain and move your blog.

it's always good to get started without having to pay anything.

Agreed with the yes and with no. But the third one is a bad idea because there is nothing like redirects in blogger while if you have a domain, you can simply use the 301 redirect to a new domain you have bought. :)

A self hosted Wordpress blog is a good decision. The SEO plugins are priceless and there are thousands of other really useful plugins that will make certain tasks a dream. There are endless free and premium themes to choose from so your blog will always have a unique presence on the web.

Google praises valuable content. SEO helps convey the valuable content and backlinks prove that it is really valuable. Wordpress is an SEO king.

I run a nifty Wordpress installation service if your interested. Your blog will be up and running with multiple themes and all the necessary plugins in no time. Check it out: duanecilliers.com/wordpress-installation/

If you're starting out, I'm thinking a self hosted wordpress blog would be best. You can find plugins everywhere, even SEO-plugins, to make your life easier and you can customize it very easily with different themes.

I have my own blogs on Wordpress, but I use a blogger blog to build backlinks to it. So in every niche I have a blog on, I will have a blogger blog that points back to it. I usually build it the same day as it helps with indexing my new site faster in google (or so it seems to me).

Im not sure what you mean by a blog and importance on google, but starting any type of site should be on your own domain and hosting, otherwise you dont actually own it.

Whatever you use for blogging it can end up a good or junk blog, the tool alone doesn't make anything professional.

That said, i recommend wordpress, i dont understand why people wouldn't use wordpress, its free, constantly updated and got plenty of features/plugins.
