Hi, I am going to start a shopping cart website to sell wp-themes, logos etc. My friend suggested Interspire shopping cart. I found many people using Zencart. I found customizing interspire is very easy. Which is the best program u suggest? Which is most secure? I also tried wordpress e commerce plugin. I'm not sure about the security features of wp ecommerce. Can i get all features of Zencart with the wp e commerce plugin? I don't know anyone using it. Please help me.
Same question here. I need a free shopping cart thats easy to use for someone without any experience on shopping carts. Needs Paypal payment and maybe credit card in the future.
If u need only paypal payment, then use Wordpress with Paypal Shopping Cart Plugin. It is secure and easy for customization. I am looking for a Shopping cart script that supports credit card payment. Which is the best open source program?
Zencart is the choice for me. I have set it up many many times... oscommerce i have had trouble on high load servers... zencart I have not.
How about using wordpress itself to sell wpthemes? We have a wordpress theme with the ecommerce plugin. Its free of course.
I would suggest you use LiveCart coz it not only able to sell physical product but also support selling virtual item such as ebook.
Most of webmasters prefer oscommerce and zencart scripts. I have used oscommerce in past, but I wasn't impressed so much. It's really good product, but customization is very, very difficult
If I remember right, Magento requires innodb storage engine, and not all hosting providers support it.
For virtual goods, you may try a specialty solution, for example, e-junkie. However, I'm not sure about the customizability. By the way, is there any special functionality that you plan to implement?
Transaction Processing is a must if you want to data integrity. That's why InnoDB is a must if you want to run an ecommerce websites. Who knows when the server will down, it would be bad if the server down when a set of quesries has not been executed completely. Your data will be a mess.
I agree with you. However, 99% of stores powered by popular ecommerce scripts are just small stores with little or almost no activity, so I don't think it will lead to major problems.
Yeah, It depends on the scale. Low one with small number of transactions will do fine with any open source ecommerce solution.
