The beta 5 hit the torrent sites a few days ago. Just saying it's out there if folks want to take a look. Even I wouldn't be using a beta on a production site.
If there is a beta 5 floating around, it's fake and probably filled with backdoors and keyloggers. Beta 2 is the latest development version and once Beta 3 is out, it will be publicly available.
I don't like vB4 from what I've seen so far. The skin is ugly, and it's got too much social networking features. It's not f'ing myspace
CMS offered by Vb4 isnt anything awesome like ppl on the VB forums or other forums are shouting. Wordpress is far better. Basically a waste of time for Vb Team. Forums on the other hand dont have a good looking skins. maybe the software might have some good points. lets hope for the best.
vb4 is completely different is style, i hope when DP upgrade the style doesn't change. I like the classy old fashioned look. Also, i think the main features to vb4 is the CMS they added (dont know for sure).
If the screenshots from here bare any truth, then the opinion from a designer like me who cares little for the back-end coding and such is that it looks exactly the same as a standard forum with a funky skin . Yay for ignorance!
Ah nice one, it looks like it makes better use of epic resolutions. Rather than just having the average repeating middle section where there's nothing to fill the space, it looks like they're moving horizontally as well as vertically, and using the space more effectively. Cool beans
Except all the plug-ins we use here (about 250) were made by us. The only exception being iTrader, but that was modified by us as well.
