google not indexing since updating from html to php

A couple weeks ago I changed about 10 pages over from html to php. Before I did that, all html pages were getting visitors from google organic and images search. Now since making them into simple PHP pages google won't go near them. Only 2 have since been indexed.

Am I just being impatient, or is this normal? Does google like .php? How can I get them back onto the search?

    Anyone?
    Thanks

Google doens't see php. All Google sees is the HTML output of php.

    It doesn't know the difference.

Do you have Google Webmaster Tools? If you sign up for those they will tell you the crawl errors with your website and sometimes the more specific errors. It's invaluable for resolving issues like this.

Did you add any commands to re-direct the old html pages to the new php pages? If not Google will see the php pages as new pages on your site and will not carry any of the old page's SERP goodness.

Adding a 301 redirect to tell the search engines that the old html pages are now php pages will help - see this link for help in creating 301 redirects http://www.webconfs.com/how-to-redirect-a-webpage.php

As 2 pages indexed so far then more will be on their way. Just wait for some more days.

As STEVEPRO said, you should 301 redirect your old html pages to the new php pages.
.php pages will be read, you need to give Google time to find and crawl them. If you 301 redirected, the process would be quicker and you'd keep the PageRank if you had any. Also, the traffic you got from your html pages would be redirected to the new php pages. Hopefully you didn't delete those html pages.
