    Hello,

I am looking to run a $2,500 ad campaign with google adword. I have no experience with adword at all, so i am looking for a little advice.

From my understanding, adword works on a pay per click bases?. Now i noticed there is a bid option and an option to set your daily limit.

Can someone please tell me how this bidding option works? what am i bidding on? is it rank?

    Also, the adword
campaign will be for my hosting company, so can someone give a little advice on what the average bidding would be for your rank? would it be like $2.00/click?

Any advice is will be greatly appreciated

You bid on how much you are prepared to pay for a click on each keyword.
the daily budget is the 'ceiling' you place - so you may bid up to $2 for a keyword, and set a daily budget of $500 - meaning that is the limit you are prepared to pay per day (it may go over on some days, but gets averaged out over a month)
Use the keyword tool to get bid estimates - but these are only estimates.https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

my advice is your oney will be better spent if you outsource a pro to put together that campaign for you, it might cost you a few bucks but your return will be 10 fold over bashing your 2.5K into the unknown

look aroung in this forum there are adword reps here who will manage your account

send this guy a pm for starters

    Hi Ace,

I don't mean to sound harsh, but the kind of questions you are asking suggest you are not yet in a position to run an Adwords campaign.

    You have two options:

    1) As DownUnder said, get a professional to do it for you. The upside to this is that you will (so long as you don't hire a scammer) get a good account running immediately. The downside is that it costs money, and you won't yourself learn how to run Adwords well. You will be reliant on outsourcing until you learn it yourself.

    2) So, you can learn it yourself. Start with the very basics by going through the Adwords beginners' guide here:

    https://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/static.py?page=guide.cs&guide=21899&topic=21901

Then keep reading the Google help, and any other resources you can find. If you have the time to do this, you will save money in the long run as opposed to always paying others.

You should better understand Adwords before paying that much money. Checker out the Thirty Day Challenge website for a good explanation of how to use Adwords.

If this your first time, go to professional, maybe you will learn the basic.

    Thanks for the plug DownUnder.

Ace, as Alex said and Appleranger implied, you appear to be nowhere near the position of running a campaign yourself. Not saying this to get your business, there are other competent people at DP and elsewhere who can do a great job for you. I just would hate to see you spend your $2500 for nothing in return.

Bid option is how much you want to spend per click and depending on how competitive that market is you can bid from .15 to more than $5.00 per click. The budget is of course your daily budget (how much your willing to spend that day).

You don't want to blow 2,000 plus on a campaign that doesn't make you money.

Anyways, yes the higher you bid per keyword the higher rank in most cases! Lower you bid the lower you rank. But in the end of things you can actually by having a great click through rate you can pay less and be ranked high.

Hope this made some kind of sense to you... If you have any other questions feel free to PM me and I can give you some pointers.
