What are some of the best ways to spread around the link to your business site online? I know targeted niches are key, so forum topics, social networks, etc are definitely popular for this. But is there anything else that would help draw traffic and gain rankings?
A well planned PPC advertisement campaign will bring you traffic without too much outlay. For a free way you should be writing (or buying) articles, spinning and submitting them.
Improve your rankings in Google. By targeting the right keyword in your site. Then followed by link building..
Definately agree with cecille20 on working on SEO. I have found a wordpress blog is a great way to get into the search engines as each post is indexed as a seperate page. If the keyword is in the post title and the content is keyword rich, you should be on your way. Obviously at the beginning you dont wanna go for really competitive keywords but as your site gains credibility (and incoming links) you can set the goalpost higher and higher! Some simple keyword research can uncover some really nice terms that may have passed others by. As for PPC.....I would say that it can take a lot of time (and cash) to learn how to properly initiate, track and optimize a campaign. On the plus side, the traffic is instant
Using twitter to link and promote is a great way. From what we have seen, the twitter pages are indexed. Depending on your product, we have used prweb's SEO visibility package as well.
Guest posting on relevant blogs with big audience. Not only will it give you backlinks for SEO, but also your brand will be exposed to the blogs' readers.
creating a blog yourself or for others. social bookmark the site, directory submission as well as ping as you post up a new post. will increase traffic. word press is a much easier tool as you don't need much html knowledge. better than blogger/blog spot. making money through blogs or websites is the "in" or latest trend these days. try this, wordpressfortunes.com
Step 1- Build a website with interesting content and useful resources. Make it worth landing on, and set it up for conversion. Continually add new content and refine it. Step 2- Write articles and press releases to spread your message. Use RSS. Build back-links and get your content out there. Do-Follow commenting, forum posting, etc. Get links from sites that tend to rank high, related to your niche and keywords and likely to result in targeted traffic. Step 3- Network with other webmasters in your niche and explore working together trading content, swapping out newsletter space, etc. Step 4- Measure results, and adjust your strategy. Do more of what works, less of what doesn't work, every niche is different. Of course there are a lot of steps in between, but that is the best way to market your business online. I have a spelled out strategy that goes way deeper, but I don't feel like digging it out nor giving away my secrets for free.
You can indeed search and find followers who are relevant to your product offering. We have our blog content pushed to our twitter account as well. That allows for people to find relevant information if they are searching for something we may have wrote about. In the business we are in, we also drop special promo codes especially for our twitter users.
BizDetail said it right. Follow his advice. Also learn PPC and use Google AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing and Bing AdCenter to promote your business online.
But how do you acquire the followers because don't they need to choose to follow you after visiting your twitter page?
Hire people or buy different users signature and profile space and advertise your business. Just like ArticlePool is doing with so many hired goons on this forum.
