What are your thoughts on them? How should we handle the drug problem? I think people should have the right to do whatever they want to their own bodies. They should make all drugs legal but up the punishments for driving under the influence or being under the influence in public. In fact the govt. should be the one who sells it / taxes it, so they can stimulate the economy and bring us back on our feet. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
"People should have the right to do to whatever their bodies they want"... This just a stupid idea in my opinion.
Why? Its their body. Whatever they do to their own body has nothing to do with you. They know all the risks going in, and take them anyway... Even if its against the law. So, why don't we use it to our advantage and make it legal so we can make money off it and try to get the economy going strong again..
If Government punished to people for drugs then why gov. make and sell that kind of drugs. If all this illegal then gov. must have to stop making all drugs .
it would be nice if government would at least give legitimate reasons and do studies on certain drugs such as anabolic steroids, which hardly any of the general public knows any real facts about.
In the Power of Now Tolle says that getting drunka nd taking drugs is to esccape from your thoughts and live in the moment. So drug taking is just a symptom of a bigger problem in your life.
~ Should be decriminalized and monitored by social services (help the people that need help) - removal from law enforcement would save many billions of dollars who only exacerbate the problem.
Dunno, I'm quite conservative about drugs issue, but isn't alcohol the most used legal drug? And there are many natural plants that aren't illegal that can be used as drugs, so when you look at it it really makes you think. Bottom line, drugs should be banned and only used sometimes in medical, and only medical purposes.
I think only some drug's should be legalized. Drug's like Marijuana, Magic Mushrooms, and LSD (I know, never) don't have a legitimate reason to be illegal. The Government just puts out false information to make people believe they're bad but the fact is they are wrong. Marijuana being illegal always just blows my mind. Why would something with no death's recorded or any physical or mental effects be illegal? I understand back in the early to mid 1900's racism wasn't really looked upon as something bad so making Marijuana seem like it was bad because Black's or Mexican's where doing it but come on we've gotten far since then. I'm almost positive majority of the US believes racism is wrong and the Government did a good job making this clear so why can't they stop being hypocrites and just legalize it? I'll leave it at that, lol, this is a touchy subject to me.
marijuana should definitley be legalized, prohibition solves nothing with soft drugs. Criminalising these people is a waste of the tax payers money also. harder drugs like heroin, meth and crack, cocaine do deserve to be illegal though as they can cause a fair amount of damage. how alcohol and cigarettes stay legal when they've had countless studies showing the bad effects on health where as marijuana a very small minority of users have ill effects. Pot being reclassfied to class B against science advise is where we know that science/safety has no ground in drug policy.
At least it's a start with Obama not arresting people using Marijuana for medicinal reasons because of Federal Laws.
The US looks like it will go in the right direction, they already have medical dispensarys and so on. The UK looks as if to be going backwards a few steps.
make drugs legal, let anyone have a gun. I'm sure most problems in the world would be solved since all the mafias in the world would have no business to run anyomore.
If america knows how to sell guns out to anyone... sure why not make drugs legal too... selling guns is much much MUCH worst. I believe in freedom... if someone wanna use drugs, let him kill himself with it as long as it wont do any trouble do other people around. Acording to research drugs do far less trouble then alchol... alchol is still legal only because countries makes alot of money with them same with smoking and marjuanna....
It can also give you a new outlook on life which you never would have had if you never took the drug. Humans have always used drugs... why would that change. Instead of naively thinking the "say no to drugs" campaigns will get the kids to stop using drugs, we should be looking at ways to promote harm minimisation. So those who decide to use drugs are properly informed and know the dangers. Making them illegal is causing more deaths, not saving them!
I'm with the original poster on this one. The people who take these so called drugs are only messing with themselves. They aren't effecting me or my income so why should I give a damn? The only thing I don't agree with is the bums with out a job who feed their habit through tax payers....
