text ads... are they worth it?

I am making very little cash from text ads because no one is clicking them. Today's average for picture ads clicks is $1.66.

 

CTR on txt ads out strips image ads by around 10-1

Is it against the adsense TOS to say average clicks?

$1.66 isn't really bad...unless you have like 10K visitors daily. I'm getting like .66 :/ but on topic, I find text ads better than image ads because text link seem more professional and users are more intrgured to click.

how do you know ?

 

In my exp, text ads out weigh image ads easily, specially when blended in around your content.

 

I used to think image ads were better but now I think text ads are, it could be because image ads seem kind of spammy.

 

I got more clicks easily out of image ads.. i guess it depends on what kind of site you have

 

Suppose i am visitor and some ad of weight loss comes. If some fat man become muscular and goof looking. Then i will click some times just because i am curious. These ads perform and pay well. Also, for text ads you should need high traffic and make them noticeable as compared to the text. Once you get some decent traffic say 100 visitor - 1,000 per day. You will make a some of money easily.

 

The user typically has more opportunity to click on an image ad (since clicking in anywhere in that space results in a click being calculated)- whereas with text ads the person must click on the title of the advertisement; however i've seen more monetary success with text ads.

 

I suspect it's going to vary depending on your niche, where your visitors are from, etc. The best thing to do is to test the different types of ads on your site and see what's best for you.

 

image ads is more converting than text ads and image ads are paying more than text ads

I am doing well at TEXT ads than image ads.

 

My Advice? Go text ads all the way!! Why?

1. People are immune to image ads already. Text ads are still a fresh concept and can be easily concealed into the contents.

2. Google AdSense text ads are several per ad depending on size giving several opportunities to click on an ad. Image ads has only one. Therefore the chance of text ads being clicked is more than that of an image ad.

3. Text is faster to recognize than an image and there is also a short description where the link ads point. Therefore a text ad will attract more interests.

 

it all depends on the ad - whichever ad format is most appealing in your niche will get higher ctr and hence more earnings.

 

Text link ad's embedded in content has higher CTR'S.
