Bounce rate - is it adsence friendly thing or not?

So what if I get 80% bounce rate on my web site? Is it adsence friendly or not so? Another question:

    Definition of bounce rate:
Bounce rate (sometimes confused with exit rate)[1] is a term used in web site traffic analysis. It essentially represents the percentage of initial visitors to a site who "bounce" away to a different site, rather than continue on to other pages within the same site.

What if I create a 1 page web site, will my bounce rate go to 0% cos there's nowhere to go besides index/home page?

Please, those who know/have experience with this type of stuff, your answers are appreciated

80% Bounce rate mean that 80% visitors was not able to find the matter for what they came on your website.
There can be one or more reasons for that type website:
    1. Made for Search Engine website (using irrelevant keywords)
    2. Mad for Adsense Website

your second question is not logical.
having only one page like "Index" will not be called "web site" it will be the "web page" and your are not allowed to put adsense on single page website or less content website.

I see, thanks for clarifying second question for me..

If #2 Made for Adsence, do you think google can ban such a website if they see 80% bounce rate? or they won't ban it for this?

    Uhhhh, yes you can.....

Micro sites are 100% allowed. I make 300-500 dollars per day with adsense using 3 page sites, Index content page, About us page, and privacy policy page.

What gave you the idea one page sites were not allowed? Thousands of people use that strategy to make cash with adsense.

No they won't, there is nothing in the terms that makes you adhere to a certain bounce rate.

WunschShrek, thanks for your input. Here's example of 1 page website optimized for adsence:

    http://cheaptravel.com/

WunschShrek, is your website getting direct traffic, or you're buying it?

I get all of my traffic from google and bing.

I pick keywords with low competition but a decent amount of searches -- and buy the keywordphrase.com or .org.

I normally can get the site on the first page of google within the first 10 days using this technique.

an example of this is a new site I built - search for Mary Frances Handbags and look for www.maryfranceshandbags.org

The site makes me around $1.50 - $3.00 per day, and took me maybe 2 hours to develop.

I outsource all content building, and I just put the site together and get it ranking fast. Using this method I can create 15-20 sites per week, increasing my daily income by about 10 dollars per week.

For blogs, there are a little difference from other static sites. Generally speaking, a 50% bounce rate for blogs is somewhat normal and a 75% rate would be a cause for concern. For 80% bounce rate, I am afraid you need to find out the problem and improve it.

I do not really agree with this.
For example, I run a lyrics website where bounce rate is 80%+ and there is no problem with that site.
User searches for lyrics in google (90% come from google), find my site, get the lyrics and go away.
what is the reason he should stay on my site? generate traffic?

No, they will see it as something good.

I have been a member of adsense for almost 5 years -- I Have sites that get 50-100% CTR on a daily basis.

As long as you are not breaking any ToS to get a high CTR, you are fine, a high CTR is a good thing not a bad thing.

Very high. All bounce rate means is the person didn't spend much time on your site.

If they go to your site, read the page, then click a google ad or leave by clicking back, this increases your bounce rate.

I don't even worry about bounce rate on single page sites or adsense sites in general, that is more important on E-commerce sites where people need to checkout and make a purchase on your site for you to earn revenue.

All a high bounce rate means on Adsense sites is people are leaving by clicking your ads, a high CTR% in your adsense statistics will confirm this.

I hope you are right because I have a one page site getting 2000+ unique visitors daily. Mostly type-in. :)

and it's not the one on my signature...

I don't think there's any minimum # of pages for AdSense, so having a 1 page site with AdSense shouldn't be against the terms of service.

Or it could mean that 80% of visitors DID find the information they wanted and did not need to look any further.

    Exactly right.

Uhhh, what gives you the idea that one page is the same as three pages?

You are not allowed to use Adsense for content on a one page site where the only links on the page are Adsense ads.

Google revised their AdSense policies a little over 6 months ago which made things a bit clearer, you may want to check them out.

It doesn't matter how long you have been an Adsense account holder, the moment they consider your sites are of significant risk to the advertiser, they will ban.

Don't hope... research, if you still can't find the answer, ask at Google's AdSense help forum

EDIT: If you are getting that amount of traffic from type ins, then you should probably look at AdSense for domains.

    Something to think about.
