I've just put together a new design for a site. I'm not sure, it may be too cute for its contents. I would love to hear others opinions on this, and other general design feedback. Thanks in advance: URL: www.ohteddy.com
Its good as it is and I like it... BUT! Be VERY careful... many younger people might be confused by the cute Artwork and the Domain can also be found quickly. Before you show the Teddy Logo maybe give a strong message that this is an adult site.
Design too simple. Nothing special than others. Just regular one. But many html errors (exact 66 Errors). Menu displayed ugly in FF. But its good enough for doorway
Thank you for the comment, do to the complexity of the design I had to make some un-rather nasty hacks. As for design-wise.. Simple is great for me. My target audience is North America, so simple is good!
Can you elaborate a bit more? I've been doing SEO on the site for about a month, and for most site, meta description, is generated based on prominence and keyword density (I've created my own algorithms for this). I'm new to the game tho, and not sure exactly what makes Google full. Please give me an example so I can do better... Cheers.
Didnt expect to be an adult site, until I read the catagories (chinese characters) above, I agree, that the teddy is abit mis leading, you may want to put a disclaimer like a popup to warn visitors, if you were to go with this template
You mean the chinese characters that said "Japanese Language" I'm curious having chinese characters on the site suggest adult content? I'm not sure a popup would do justice, since people hate pop-ups and are easily driven away by them How about if I were to change the speech bubble on the top page to have Teddy dreaming/thinking of a naked girl. Would that indicate to people that it's an adult site? As for people driving directly into search results, well there's nothing I can do about that, if ppl are searching for some pron I expect them to not be mislead.
Oh the chinese characters and japanese characters were under the recent searches, so I know(i know what you mean). I have a porn site too, so I understand. If you do that, purposely place a naked jap av idol in the bubble, then that would be much better, I am talking about the 1st page/landing page. or else you may be sued for delivering some misleading info...beware of the new FTC guidelines, anything can happen. Just some precaution.
Thank you... Do you have a link to these new guidelines? PS I'm not sure showing a naked girl on the landing page would fall within in these guidelines Perhaps some nice nipple tassels would be in order... Cheers.
I've updated the entry page to be a bit more explicit. Does it send a clearer warning that the site is not indented for anyone under 18 years of age?
It's too cute for adult, IMHO. A nice design but it kicks left on a widescreen..is that intentional? I don't think there is much callling for teddy bears and poon but hey I have seen weirder shit on the webz. Good luck with whatever you undertake... Woody
It was intentional, that void on the right is going to used for ads. This makes me think tho that I could center it and still have room for ads... hummm I like the idea thanks!
