First of all, I don't think that you are allowed by Google TOS to "invite" peoples to click on ads. Second, regarding the site design, if you have no experience at all then keep it simple. It will be looking a lot better with a simple header, buttons etc.
I agree with jimairon, not kwl you trying to get us click on google ads dude jst keep it simple and follow some tuts on xhtml/css
Kiasy. I don't, by any means, want to discourage you, but your index page just looks sterile. I should start again, taking a bit more time. Take a look at similar sites to get some idea of what can be done in the way of layout, etc. I don't know if I would be allowed to put my URL on here (I'm new) but anyway this was my first attempt www.artus-fh.co.uk using NVU and it has proved quite successful. Although many people advised against it, I used tables, with which I am quite happy. I did, however, spend a lot of time looking at other websites and checking out colour combinations. also rename main.html to something what is site about like football.html to get at least some score at search engines, but in your case i think it want really help
