Hello All, I have a dating website and I am looking to market to adults around 30+... Right now, I am getting good traffic but most of them are young. I promote through search engines, twitter, etc... Can you suggest other avenues that I need to take so most of my visitors are the 30+ adults and within the US. I appreciate the input. Thanks!
What I think you need create many profiles from social network and I know one website will help you out.. ping.fm as lots of social network site and once you have done an update it will spread like bullet to every social network. I hope this works with you..
If you have the money to spare, commission a survey result from emarketer or the like as to what are the sites that are frequently visited by this demographic (I think this option also available as demographic targeting in google adwords),. Then buy PPC on those sites.
thanks for the input.. I am really looking for more of an SEO rather than a PPC type campaign. I was marketing through twitter but I am getting the younger group. I just really need the 30+ adults.. the facebook sounds like a good advantage there. Anything else?
Facebook shouldn't be your main priority when it comes to promoting your social dating website. If you're going to try something, try seeing where most 30+ year old adults go to, (websites,blogs,etc) and try to market your website like that. It's tougher with the older target market since they might have little experience with the internet. Yugo,
Advertising on mainstram sites is probably your best bet. By mainstream I mean news sites, sites that offer online services etc. etc. Alternatively, you can always hire affiliates - either directly or through a network. Pay me $1.50 per lead and you won't be able to count the number of 30+ male signups I bring you
Well you can find men at that age on sites like askmen.com, but in terms of women. It's very hard since I don't browse women targeted sites. But I'm positive a google search will lead you in the right path.
If you want to taregt demographically, the other posters are right - you need to use a platform like Facebook that has demographic data on it's users. Search Engines don't - you can't really SEO for age or gender.
facebook is greate. create a page an promote it with facebook ads. this way you will have subscribers to your page sp you can market to them an other time and another other time. + rep
You've got to think about it marketing-wise. It's simply not focused enough asking yourself, "how do I market to 30+ year old clients". If you want to market specifically to them, then you've got to ask yourself, "well, what would 30+ year old people surfing on dating sites be looking for?" Even that's still too broad. You've got to narrow down the niches within the dating niche for 30+ year olds, ie. who are 30+ year olds most likely to look for to find love? Try out QuantCast.com. Type in the dating site URLs. It will give you a gender and age break down, as well as other sites they frequent. Hope this helps.
In a nutshell, do a search for such sites that the older generation, who are also lonely, goes to. Then advertise in those sites. News sites wher they get their news first thing in the morning, or whenever, may be a good start. I would suggest contacting some of the following ad networks as they would know. Try local news sites, they are usually very active and have people interested in dating as well as demographic targeting.
We haven't had too much luck with facebook actually.. but many sites offer demo targeting these days, so it shouldn't be too hard. If you have a big budget, yahoo! has some pretty impressive targeting they can do on display ads.
