I suppose from a user point of view -the brandable name would be more effective

    What are your thoughts

brand aint worth squat if you aint got visitors! get the seo keyword version of the domain, you can always rebrand once it is a popular site

These two concepts to divide at all does not cost. Each of them is half of success in business development. With a bad name - SEO will not be so it is effective, and without SEO - nobody learns a good name, only casual visitors.

For me it's SEO. Of course, it also depends on what is the purpose of such a domain. If I won't mind having 20-30 visits per day just to sell something, then SEO is a way to go. If I want the website to receive thousands (or more) visits per day, then it's also necessary to think about name. keyword1keyword2keyword3.com often doesn't look best.

I agree 100%. People will google your name and you'll be the first line.

Think marketing before your think seo.

I agree!! You need to stand out from all the noise, especially in times like these when more startup businesses are popping up than ever...

Branding comes first but definitely having an seo name as your "authority" is good too, having both and you will be unstoppable.

You need a bit of both really, but if I had to choose, I would go for SEO to make it easier for me to get it off the ground.

for long term business i choose brandable name, look for big website out there(google, ebay, yahoo, theinsider, cnn) no one use keyword as a name... domain name with keyword it's good for SE but not for human...brand a name is important ...

    Not exactly.
Sometimes a keyword related domain is much more SEO friendlier compare to brandable domain.

I guess it all depends - brand domains are great if you have the budget for marketing and seo etc otherwise I would think a keyword domain could be better!
