As far as i've read, MSN isn't a really popular search engine, but still...getting up there fast is a good thing.
MSN is rather quick to index, I believe I am first for searching: tech rant, but again that isn't a very popular keyword and it's my domain. What keyword are you second for?
yeah but msn has also recently changed their search algorithm, which is seems to have really put the results in a blender and shaken them up. we were at page 2 for a popular keyword on msn for 2 nearly months. dropped like a stone and keep fluctuating these days!
Unfortunately much of the advice you read about rating high on MSN was valid until the end of may, but not any longer. However the answers are out there in plain view - just analyse the sites ranking high.
i'd rather not give the specific info, dont want a competing site popping up! but with only 2 pages indexed by msn so far ive had 24 uniques today.
MSN has always, at least IMHO been a bit easier nut to crack. I have #1 for my site mortgage-pros.com and California mortgage refinancing. I'm #15 for this same phrase in Yahoo. I think good keywords is a great program and I use it to construct my phrases all the time. I also think having the phrase in the url is helpful at MSN. Scot
msn depends on the domain name i think.. if you you have your targeted keyword in your domain name.. you'll be fine in msn.
MSN loves new content, with good SEO new pages should rank pretty highly for their keyword. Staying there can be a little more difficult but you can generally achieve it be rewording stuff on your index page when you start to slip. I got the top spot in 5 days for an ok term with little/no seo experience (my first website) but I've recently started to slip, I'm working on taking that spot again.
Yea, new content is what they feed off of. If you got it, they'll probably help you raise in the ranks quickly. Just keep up the content.
To get traffic, you need a high ranking for your phrase, but the phrase has to be typed in alot! I'd say that 25,000 is pretty good. Does it deliver you traffic? Scot
and dont optimize your site in just one keyword phrase.. Try to experiment what the users might search..
Well the 25000/month figure is from overture which is mainly based on searches at yahoo (i think), so theres probably less searches at msn and a lot more on google. Only 2 pages indexed so far and only recieving a hand full of visitors so far. MSN traffic is tiny compared to google...
I've always had good luck with MSN on my Wordpress sites.....and believe it or not, MSN seems to index .blogspot address very well too.
MSN is not a very popular search engine now. A commercial site generate a sale from yahoo and google. Ranking on MSN is easy than yahoo and google. Target only yahoo and google if you want traffic and want to generate a sale from your site. In short it's not more benificial if your site has high ranking on MSN.
What kind of help are you looking at. to get some right answeres you need to ask right questions. On the whole msn is a good search engine to rank in. it sends very less traffic but then every drop in the ocean counts. Some traffic is better then none. read around and ask questions and others members will surely answere them. anyways welcome to the forum. cheers
MSN will become very popular when MS Vista is released. It is a relatively good search engine and will be standard in the OS.
You hit the nail on the head there. Whilst it is very easy to rank well in MSN, with high keyword density, the traffic from MSN is poor, actually very poor.
well im experiencing the opposite.. In under 1 week i was in google for a very competitive term, and im result # 14 now ! However, still not indexed on MSN !
