1.5 chickens give 1.5 eggs in 1.5 days.

implies 1 chicken gives 1 egg in 1.5 days.

2 chickens will give 2 eggs in 1.5 days.

for 3 eggs, you will need 50% more time....that is 2.25 days.

    Sachin is right.

1.5 chickens give 1.5 eggs in 1.5 days.

By logic, 1.5 chickens would need lesser time to produce only one egg.

Therefore, 1.5 chickens would give 1 egg in 1 day.

Again, if you reduce the number of chickens, the time taken will increase.

So, 1 chicken will give 1 egg in 1.5days.

That means 2 chickens will give 2 eggs in 1.5 days.

For the same chickens to produce more eggs would mean an increase in time. Using proportion, 2 chickens will give 3 eggs in 2.25 days.

Here is the math and hopefully a simple explanation...

If 1.5 chickens lay 1.5 eggs in 1.5 days then 1 chicken lays 1 eggs (1.5 eggs divided 1.5 chickens) in 1.5 days (still takes the same length of time).

So, if you have 2 chickens they will lay 2 eggs (1 egg x 2 chickens) in 1.5 days.

So, if you want three eggs you need 2.25 days (1.5 days x 150%)

LOL - if you did not get the right half (top / bottom) the half would not lay any eggs :)

Chicken lay eggs only when it is dark i.e after dusk and before dawn, so the question is absurd ;)

    1 (Chicken) + 1/2 (Chicken) = 1(egg) + 1/2 (egg) = Takes 1day + 1/2 day

    Therefore, 2 (Chickens) = 1 (Chicken) + 1/2 (Chicken) + 1/2 (Chicken)
    = 1(egg) + 1/2 (egg) + 1/2 (egg)
    = 2 ( eggs) only & not three eggs

Hence it is proved that 2 Chickens can't lay 3 (eggs)

Therefore the question is wrong. :D:D:D
