    Hi Guys -

I need you help - I am launching a new site soon, the best keyword domain is taken, not used and the guys wants £10,500 for it. (No traffic, or PR)

Now should I think about buying it or shall I just buy a domain like www.bestkeyword4u.com etc etc you get the idea!

    Any advice would be great:)

Depends on the niche, length and the brandability of the domain. My company paid $5,000 last year for the perfect domain, generic and brandable (payable.com).

Sometimes people just arn't willing to let a domain go unless they receive an offer they can't refuse, I've had a few offers on domains that I own that I'm not doing anything with but it wasn't enough to make it a no brainer.

For 10k pounds you can buy an existing project with a good domain name that is below 200k Alexa.

Hell no, it's not worth it.

Well I would say its a perfect name really, but I think we could make a good brand out of another one ie say my top keyword 'London Jobs', is it really worth £10,500 for LondonJobs.co.uk or shall I go for JustLondonJobs.co.uk or LondonJobs4u.co.uk?

    Anyone with anymore ideas?

    Cheers

In the end it´s not the domain that determin if your website is a success.. I would invest money in really great information written by pro's instead, Since it´s the content and design that will make the users come back on a regular basis..

    In short content before domain

I wouldn't pay it, you could get a decent enough domain for a few hundred spend the rest on advertising and you'll be in a better position than you would be with the premium domain.

The only reason I was thinking about it was because it was just the right keyword etc

Only time i would pay like that is if it´s a XX.com 2 char domain and it´s pefect for me.. else spend it on keyword rich content.. that will give you better rank in the long run than a domain.

Well said. The domains itself is not sufficient to determine value of your website. So you can let that domain go and build a good site with one of the domains you found out.

If it is the perfect name for you, then maybe it might be worth it then. You need to make the decision if YOU feel it is worth paying that much for the name or not.

In the end of the day, we can't make the decision for you as we don't know what the exact name is.

Yes it is worth it if you have 100% keyword matching - ie if people search
"keywordone keywordtwo" and you can have "keywordonekeywordtwo.com" then yes, because that is a campaign you can run, and if it how people search or remember it in an advertising campaign then it should be near the top of google - if not the top - plus if it is a popular search term, other than that no, the rest will have to be your effort in marketing seo, etc

If you have that kind of money you should visit www.flippa.com which is a ebay for established/new sites. Some of these sites already have a revenue. Just my .02c but I feel you should pass and buy something that will make you some money where someone else done the hard work. :) Good luck!

Although it's too expensive,I think it still depends on you and your budget. If you really think it will become your
brand and you will benefit much from it in the future,I think it's worthy.Such invest and needs your courage
    and insight.
