Hi guys, I am from Slovakia, I am owner of some slovak sites. I was trying also to make english website, but they were without traffic. I bought few articles and submitted site to directories, and that's all. Now I know it wasn't enough Lately I am really interested in longtail traffic. And I have few questions. 1. Can I get huge longtail traffic (few thousands visits per day) without any massive linkbuilding? I am going to buy just few backlinks and submit website to directories. My only one big investment will be articles. 2. What niche is best for longtail traffic? I was thinking about health/medicine. 3. I am going to buy about 300 articles for start, each one targeted on some longtail term. Then I will be adding new content 1-3 times per week. It is enough? Do you think it is possible? Make website, post 300 articles, submit site to directories, buy few backlinks, update site and wait for longtail traffic? Thanks Peter
I would say without any authority to your site (from backlinks) thousands of visitors a day isn't going to happen - especially for a highly competitive niche like health. There is no quick and easy way - which is why only a small percentage make good money from adsense. The others are still looking for shortcuts.
And if I will have hundreds of articles, where each one article will be targeted to unique longtail term? It is still not possible to get huge traffic? And if I will buy some backlinks? How much I need to invest in backlinks you think?
It all depends on the niche. I have friends who have a premium domain in a health niche, site is over 4 years old - DMOZ listed, PR6, thousands and thousands spent on link building, original content by medical doctors, quality natural links from authority sites, and they still don't have anything close to 100K uniques a month - and they know what they are doing. Now you want to buy some content which probably isn't going to written by an MD, throw up some low quality directory backlinks, and target some long tail keywords (which means not much traffic) and hope to generate huge traffic in one of the most competitive niches around? I don't think so. If you have a budget in the tens of thousands of dollars, it might be possible to do given time (year or two) - but it's going to come down to the quality of the content - and 300 topics would be a massive undertaking. If you need thousands of uniques a day, don't want to produce quality content and work full-time, every day for a long time, I would find another niche. Google uses signals (i.e. links from authority sites in that niche) to rank sites - without those, you aren't going to get that kind of traffic. Health/Medical - You probably couldn't pick a harder niche to build quality backlinks for.
Thanks for your post. Health niche was just example, because I have one slovak health minisite with nice traffic Do you think that if I will choose some other niche it will be easier? My budget for this project is 2000 dollars. Do you think my plan (make 300 articles targeted on longtail terms and update website 1-3 times per week) can be succesful in other niche?
