Hi guys, first of all I wanted to thank this forum for the huge amount of useful information it countains. It's a true gold mine ! I've been lurking around for the past 2 months,gathering lots of advices, and it's only now that I register my own account. Guess what ? I'm having a problem with hotfile ! I have been using there service during approx 6 weeks with a decent result. I have now reached between 3000 to 4500 downloads per day, very stable. Most of my files are smaller than 50 Mo (80% of my downloads). Until last week, I was Gold, but suddenly, with no apparent reason (my stats are stable, uploads and downloads) my status fell down from Gold to Silver and now Bronze. When I was Gold I made 25 to 30 $ /day, but now I'm making only 12 to 14 $/day, and I am not happy with this at all. I have asked hotfile support about that, and they replied that my conversion ratio fell down. I can understand that, but I can't explain it, since nothing changed from my side. I'm guessing that hotfile simply decided that I was stuck with them, since I uploaded lots of files and recently bought a 1 year premium account. I have 3 questions here : 1 - Has anyone else experienced the same problem with hotfile ? (once you start making decent money, you get suddenly downgraded) 2 - Since hotfile pretends my conversion ratio went suddenly down, it must mean that it was high before (when I was Gold), but all my files are located on my blog and I have registered my site under their affiliate program so that I can earn from the subscriptions but I did not make a single $ with their programm in 6 weeks, eventhough I've had 4000 downloads per day during this period. Why is that ?? 3 - What other service could I use, that would be appropriate for my profile (i.e. lots of daily downloads, mainly < 50 Mo) ? I already know : depositfile = no way since they count only 1 download per IP per day storage.to = no way since they need files bigger than 90 Mo uploading.com = no way since they are not stable enough and banned from too many boards. I did not experience anything like that. But I do not know how their ranking works. It is very strange. After deleting so many files. I moved from copper to bronze.
Storage is the best one i ever come acrossed. Bw hotfile pays on time and they are very punctual which hotfile isn't.
Me too..my account rank down from silver to copper !! But i think 14$ daily not bad * maybe they don't have enough money to pay ^^
I have a similar experience as you. My rank was lowered from gold to copper within 3 days. I think their ranking system is wired and the worst thing is that they keep the exact rule as a secret so nobody could understand and have to guess the reason.
I had a problem with HotFile a long time ago. They said that my files were being downloaded by too many premium members and that was impossible to happen, so they removed my points and two days later they closed my account. And I was making only $30 per week. It was a long time ago. I started using Storage.to since then, but as ST is shaving on the earnings, I decided to give another try on HotFile. So far, so good. But I'm not making much money now, about $2 per day. If I had some referrals I could make more.
To your questions: 1. I've been with silver just for a few days, and then stuck with copper for almost 4 months. 2. hotfile does not pay much for subscriptions from your site or blog, only 5% is gonna be in your pocket......rapidshare pays almost 20 euros for that 3.don't just look at the numbers , make sure you check the list of countries they will count. (Downloads are counted only if done from the following countries: United States, Canada, Norway, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Germany, Latvia, Estonia, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Denmark, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania, Australia, Russia, Liechtenstein, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Turkey, Japan and Singapore.) Even you have like a million hits, but from some country not listed above, you get $0 Here's my hotfile stat page (bronze) DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH FROM MAKE A LIVING OFF THIS! It is a lot of work, and still you need some "tricks" to play around. Some, but not a lot, of my friends, makes $4000 a month from hotfile. They are all ranked copper.
I used to upload RAW manga files to hotfile only, last month at most $8 a day in rank copper. However, an admin of manga site banned me for 3 day, i had to post hotfile and rapidshare together follow the admin.... Now i earn $1~2 a day, so i want to upload other files such as porn,apps,movies (game is too big).... How can you make 4k downloads a day? every day you post in 10+ sites or your site, and or post in top of thread?
NEVER EVER post mirror links for your files, it HURTS your earnings definitely!!! If you go with hotfile, then post only hotfile links. If the forum does not allow spam, then try out other forums.
OK guys, here is a little follow up concerning my status and my issues with hotfile. After I was downgraded to bronze, I continued using hotfile on my site (I'm running a small blog, but it has a decent traffic) but I started to mirror each file with sharingmatrix. Surprisingly, it worked pretty good. I made approx 150 $ since then with sharingmatrix (2-3 $ /day with downloads and 3-5 $ / day with sales). This adding up with hotfile money (10-15 $ /day). Of course my number of donwloads at hotfile decreased after I mirrored with sharingmatrix, but since I couldn't get much lower than bronze I didn't care. My visitors do not like very much sharingmatrix, and have complained a lot about it but still I'm having at least 1 sale /day with it. The funniest thing is that, after 3 weeks of this, my status at hotfile has gone back to silver, and I'm now heading to Gold (I'm 86 % silver). I dont quite understand all this status calculation, but well... Anyways, many of you have sent me PMs asking what was my secret for getting 3000 - 4000 donwloads / day at hotfile. Sorry to say I've got no secret, nor any magic trick. I'm running a small blog dedicated to adult mangas and comics and it has a nice traffic since it's been out there for 3 years. I have approx 2000 files available for download, I'm adding 4 -5 new uploads per day, and I'm posting as well on 5-6 adult forums to keep getting new visitors to my blog. And that's it. The good thing is, my traffic translates to a decent amount of downloads and sales at sharingmatrix. The bad thing is, the kind of files I upload are small (80% of my downloads are below 50 Mo). if I had 80% above 100 Mo instead, I would make a LOT more money. Hope it helps.
So i have to change my method necessarily, i just have found my website for collecting RAW manga, it works for 1 week. And i begin to upload porn manga and anime over 100MB.
You have worked for 3 year, so your solid foundation make a lot of money, although i have earned EUR 20 in two German porn sites from up.to, but i decide to upload more porn manga anime to hotfile specially.
