    Hello All,

I have one Doubt, can any one clarify this.

Two months back i have given a link add in high traffic & PR7 site homepage for 1month.
After 1month completed they have commented the link in html page instead of removing it. So in homepage of that site my link is not appearing now.
But daily i am getting some traffic from that site. How it is possible???

And is there any weight to comment link in html page instead of removing ?

    Waiting for your replies.

    Regards,
    Soney

May be your link has been shifted to any other pages or it stored in archive
If you comment on page and leave a link to your site that is valuable more if that page don't have nofollow attribute.

You should get benefit from there because link are still there but change the position. I don't think html in an issue when google search backlink google have the ability to revive this.

While the spiders may read the code, it's not going to do you any good if the link to your site has been commented out. Commented code is passed over as it was used in the past as a way to keyword stuff a site. You would effectively be cloaking.

I would suggest removing any link that you may have on your site pointing to the one in question, and forget about them. I wouldn't trust any site that would comment out a link to your site. I would guess they're looking to boost their PR by hiding their outbound links, but that's just my opinion.
