zibblu, may I know how many sites do you distribute your article to using uaw? I don't seem to get any ranking improvement after using uaw. I have tried distributing 20 articles a day, sometimes 50 or even 100 a day for different sites (my own as well as other web 2.0 sites like hubpages etc.)
My UAW articles end up on hundreds of sites... Check my sig link for details on that. I tend to drip my articles at either a 25 or a 50 rate. Lately I've just been keeping it at the 50 rate that they recommend.
99% for search engine rankings. I find that submitting articles via these services gives me very little direct traffic. The one exception is ISnare which does seem to bring a trickle of direct traffic.
I don't tend to go for really competitive keywords... I try to keep it reasonable. But I don't have any hard and fast rules really, about what I go for and what I don't. Maybe I should? ..
I've got some results from tests #3 and #4 to share. My idea with these tests originally was to compare the inlinks that each gets in Yahoo Site Explorer but since I can't seem to get any numbers back on EZA landers now, that won't really work. But it is SERPS that really matters so I'll focus on that. I wouldn't compare these head to head really, because they're on different landers and in some cases they are even different keyword targets... these are more like case studies to see what kind of rankings I can get from just one submission with each of these article distribution services. Test #3. I now know that this keyword target is mostly useless. At the time I thought it would actually be quite profitable. Unfortunately it looks like people just simply don't search for this term. Oh well! You win some and you lose some. It was a new product launch and I thought it would be much bigger than it is. Rankings for each article submission service in Google, Bing, & Yahoo respectively (checking top 30 results.) UAW: #2, ZERO, ZERO. AMA: #3, #1, #1 AR: #5, ZERO, ZERO IS: ZERO, ZERO, ZERO (ISnare is slow... I think this article was only recently submitted.) According to Google there are 26K results for a "phrase search" for this keyword phrase... but I've found that number to be increasingly meaningless... An AllInTitle:"Phrase" brings up just 279 results (which may put those #2, #3, and #5 result in context... this is not a tough KW phrase... so I don't want to pretend that it is!) Obviously AMA is most impressive here... #1 in both Google & Yahoo (while the others are nowhere to be found) and #3 in Google (right behind UAW.) These were all targeting the same KW... But to be fair to ArticleRanks, it's lander was on Squidoo, while AMA & UAW were on EZA which tends to rank easier in my experience. So it's not a level playing field. Test #4 These are targeting a variety of KW phrases on a variety of landers so comparing the SERPS results head to head doesn't really make any sense... Again, I would look at this more as individual case studies than a true comparison (I originally meant for the head to head comparison to be based on the back links, which makes more sense... but like I said earlier, I am no long able to see inlinks to EZA landers for some reason.) UAW: #20, #7, ZERO. This is an EZA lander and it's for a profitable KW for me so I'm very pleased with these results with just one UAW submission. In Yahoo I'm actually beat out by two of my own EZA landers. This is a much more competitive KW: an allintitle:"phrase" search gives me 15,000 results. AMA: #11, ZERO, #2. Bing must have something against this lander (which I don't even want to share because I'm a greedy bastard and people don't tend to mention this one much...) But pretty good on Google & particularly Yahoo. This is a low competition keyword with an allintitle:"phrase" search giving only 182 results. AR: ZERO, ZERO, #9. This is an EZA lander and in both Google & Bing I'm outranked by my own EZA. I'm actually really impressed by the #9 in Yahoo because this is a big KW for me. It's probably been my #1 money maker for the year actually (and no, I am not sharing it!) 31,700 allintitle:"phrase" results. IS: ZERO, #6*, ZERO. This is a hubpages lander. There are 30,400 allintitle:"phrase" results. Whats the #6* for Bing mean? Well, it's not my lander that ranks #6, it's the ISnare article itself (which I think just recently got submitted.) That's one of the things I like about ISnare, I can actually get direct traffic from it from it's own pages and from some of the higher quality article directories that it submits to (such as ArticleBase.) --- Overall these tests have been a bit of a mess, but these SERPS results do reinforce that I think each of these services does have value and I think I'm on the right track by using them all in conjunction.
You got a PR 1 just from submitting 1 article to isnare.com???? I have almost 500 links going to one of my sites and its still a PR 0!!! Did you use the paid service or just a submission?
I think I am gonna try AMA (Article marketing automation). This type of info is valuable and informative, (results of tests etc.).
Well, I'd say at least half of my links are coming from articles I've written and related blog comments so I don't understand how they could be valued as less than 1 article on isnare. Maybe its because the domain is only 3 months old?
I really don't think PR is worth worrying about... It seems to have little correlation to what really matters: SERPS. I have domains which are only a PR 3 but which do very well in the SERPS... that's what matters. I'm a big supporter of the "ignore PR" movement
I haven't. I'm looking at it now and it seems like it could be effective. But what I like about a lot of the systems I'm using is that they have their own networks, so it's not just the usual article directories you're going up on. And ISnare already takes care of the usual article directories for me. I suppose I could use this instead of that for that particular task... It may save me money in the long run, and I could spin the articles... I could probably talk myself into it... but ISnare seems to work fine (although it's slow) and I have 103 credits with them at the moment.
I've just signed up at ama after following your tests for quite a while so thanks for sharing. I've also just submitted my first article using ama and have a couple of questions that i can't find answers to. 1. How long does it take for them to start posting your articles? And 2. I bypassed the bit where i could have written alternative sentences. Do you know how i can get back to it now i've clicked submit? I can still edit the article as it hasn't actually gone out yet, but can't find that bit again. Thanks for the great resource.
1. They usually start going out within a day. I submitted an article a few days ago and it's already up on 13 sites. 2. I actually don't know about that alternative sentences thing because I don't use it. I use Magic Article Rewriter for all of my spun article submissions (via all of the different services I use) ... It's awesome, a great time saver. --- I should also note that which category you submit to makes a huge difference as far as how many times your article gets published. For example, the most I've had any one article published is 291 times (that's in the "affiliate revenue" category) while another article I submitted around the same time has only been published 63 times ("men's issues")
I have a question. You've measured these based on how many backlinks show up. Do you think there's any difference in value between a unique article and an article that is copied to many places? If you write an article on AMA and take the time to spin it many times, then they put it out on a site with a pr of 1, is that any more valuable than if iSnare puts your un-spun article on a similar site?
yes and no. Google have said that there's no such thing as a duplicate content penalty, and even though you don't actually see every duplicate page in a search for that text, if you done another more specific search, the missing pages would appear. They're all indexed, and all links are counted. Google did say though that if the duplicate content was an obvious attempt at spam then they'd just de value the duplicate pages, including the links on them. I personally don't think that isnare submitted articles would be seen as spam, but that's my opinion and not googles.
